“Beautiful room on a delightful leafy street”

Blacket Garden Flat is on a leafy street about a 30 minute walk from the Royal Mile -- however, there are a million different buses that run right up there in 10 minutes, and they are easy and cheap.

Isobel was very welcoming, and the room was lovely -- filled with snacks, magazines, books, and one of the most comfortable beds ever. Additionally, since we didn't leave until later on our departure day, Isobel let us leave our luggage behind, and we let ourselves back in later to retrieve the bags. That made our second day very enjoyable.

It was also nice to see a beautiful, green part of Edinburgh that's still so central. If I were to stay in Edinburgh for a few days, this would be a wonderful location.

The only thing we didn't like was that there are large windchimes positioned right over the front door, so that you have to hit them with the door when you come in late at night. This way, they know when you come home. I understand completely because this is their home, but we felt a bit like we were intruding, when we came home late. (Or that maybe my Mum might come out and yell at me.) I might just be paranoid!

Relaxed and relaxing. Lovely quiet spot. Perfect base for exploring the city if you can spare some cash and are not phobic about walking.

Very welcoming B&B. Great location. Massive room with lots of thoughtful extras like small fridge, fresh fruit and DVD player(and DVDs)
Breakfast was excellent.
Perfect base for a few days in Edinburgh.

“Delightful hideaway in Edinburgh”

The moment we stepped into our room we knew we had to extend our stay. Blacket Garden is a delightful B&B, and Isobel and Jas are considerate hosts, supplying not only a tasty breakfast each morning, but stocking the room with snacks and water to help you get through the day. Our room was quite large, with more than enough room for our stuff.

The biggest drawback the lack of easy internet -- there's a computer you can use for webmail and such, but I would have preferred Wifi!

“kindest people ever”

I stayed at Blacket Garden Flat for 2 nights with my parents. Everything was perfect. We felt home right away. The family room was huge and clean, the location was great and the breakfast was amazing. And most of all, the owners were very nice people.

While we were in Edinburgh my mom got her handbag stolen(be careful everyone, there are professional thieves walking around) and her passport was in that handbag. It was a nightmare. We were supposed to fly to Dublin the next morning, but we had to go to London to get the new passport. Everything was meesed up and I was frustrated. When I told Isoble about the lost, she was very helpful. She helped me to look for the train to London and tried to find cheap flight ticket for us. Even she let me use her credit card to book a train when mine wasn't working and we were in a hurry. I paid her cash right away, but still it wasn't an easy thing to do to a stranger. In addition to that, her husband came down to the train station the next morning when I called them that we needed to have that credit card to pickup the tickets. What a nice and kind people!

I can't imagine what would've happened to us if we didn't meet them. We asked a lot and they never said no. They were angels. I can't thank them enought and will never forget what they've done to my family. Thanks!!!
