We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here at the end of September, following a week at a cottage in Northumberland. I did lots of research to find a reasonably priced B+B within walking distance of the city centre! The Blacket Garden Flat has been rated highly on Trip Advisor, and it certainly lived up to our expectations.

The location was ideal - a quiet street with unrestricted parking at the weekend. We had hired a car for the holiday although you don’t need one in Edinburgh. Jimmy kindly moved the car for us on Monday morning before the parking restrictions started at 8.30am.

As it was our first visit to Edinburgh we spent a day seeing the sights from the top deck of the tourist buses, hopping on and off at various destinations around the city. The royal yacht Britannia is well worth a visit (allow 2-3 hours).

Hopefully we’ll visit Edinburgh again, and the Blacket Garden Flat will be our first choice.

We loved every minute of our stay at Blacket Garden Flat. It is in a beautiful preservation neighborhood, with trees and sidewalks. It is a short walk to the bus, so it makes getting around Edinburgh easy. Most of all, Isobel and James are most gracious hosts. The breakfasts are delicious, and James goes out daily for the newspaper. We hope to return.

My husband and I stayed with Isobel in mid Sept and found her a charming hostess. The B&B is just off the main bus line on a quiet residential street. My husband enjoyed the running paths close by at Authur's Seat and the "mile" is a pleasant 20 minute walk. Comfortable room with small refrigerator, fruit and tea/coffee set up, we couldn't have asked for more!!

We stayed for 2 nights before leaving on a cruise from Leith.
We can only recommend the clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation, the welcoming and helpful hosts, particularly their help arranging transport etc.

You will feel at home here.
