The Balmoral is a reasonably priced B&B in an excellent location, just a 15-20 minute walk from Princes Street. The owners were friendly and accommodating and the room clean, cozy, and very charming. The breakfast, however, was a bit sparse compared to other guest houses: one egg, a bit of bacon, half of a small tomato, some mushrooms, and a half a plate of beans. For the amount of money paid, I would expect a bigger breakfast. But overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Balmoral and wouldn't discourage people from booking it. Just don't expect the lavish full breakfast that other B&Bs provide.

“Nice B&B”

The Balmoral Guesthouse is a very charming B&B a short ways (15 minutes walk) from the heart of Old Town. It is in an old townhouse on a residential side street. There are about five rooms on the top two floors - ours was painted a cheery bright yellow, well-decorated, with a sink in the room and very comfortable bed. The shared bathrooms were very nice, done in beautiful colors and augmented with skylights. Breakfast was the standard Scottish breakfast - eggs, ham, tomatoes, mushrooms, as well as cereal, oj and coffee/tea. The owner was pleasant and helpful, though perhaps a bit harried. This B&B would be best for independent travellers, not those who need or are expecting a lot of interaction with the owner. Overall, highly recommended for its charm and value!

  • Disliked — quiza que esta muy antiguo por dentro pero en las habitaciones, el salon es estupendo, pero no en plan ah que bonito que antiguo , sino mas bien un poco de descuido con lo que a veces puede dar una sensacion un tanto sombria
