This hotel is fantastic - We had got up at 4:30am to get to Edinburgh for 9 for an event at The Hub in the city centre and therefore were exhausted when we arrived at the hotel at 10pm. We had got something quick for dinner as we were tired and it had been a very cold day and we also knew by the late time we returned to the hotel the restaurant would not be serving food (understandably!), when we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly owner who checked us in and gave us our key and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. He told us we could eat our food in the bar whilst watching the results of XFactor (which was a big plus for me!). After dropping our bags in our BEAUTIFUL room we went down to the bar to eat and we were told we could sit on their extremely comfy sofa in front of a warm log fire and watch their cinema sized telly with our food and drinks. Our idea of perfection after our long day!! The owner made us feel completely at home even after being there just 5 minutes!
This hotel provided everything we could possibly need including a complimentary internet service, a very beautiful, clean, modern room and a lovely breakfast. The breakfast service is fantastic and you can help yourself to toast, tea, coffee and orange juice and more.
ALL the staff here are very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, I can't stress this enough!!!

All google maps say this is a 12 min car journey from the city centre however it took no more than 6mins to get to the hotel in a taxi only costing £7. There is also a bus service running to and from the city centre and the hotel!
If you are staying in Edinburgh I strongly recommend you stay here!!!

We happened to find this little hotel on the Internet.
We had reservations for one night, but once we got there we decided to extend our stay to four nights.
Clean and cosy rooms; the food was excellent and the staff very friendly and charming. I highly recommend that place !

The hotel is warm, homely with really friendly staff, the rooms are clean, fresh and modern, and absolutely spotless. The food in the restaurant is fantastic, we preferred ot eat here ra ther than go out, it was good value and delicious. A great wekend, would definitely come again. Only one thing, the beds are a bit firm, great for your back!!!

This is a great hotel, small and friendly. Annette and Max made me extremely welcome and I would recommend anyone to visit Edinburgh and stay at the Hotel Ceilidh-Donia.

The hotel is much quieter than many in the centre ... far better and at a much better room rate. Ok, you are a little out of town but there are so many taxis it is never a problem and parking is so much easier.

Yes, the hotel is a nice one, but the lady (her name is Annette if I'm not mistaken) thinks she is the Queen of the Scots!
She finds more important to finish the cleaning (which would take long, we could sense) than to to receive and show the room to guests who had booked the hotel 4 months in advance....
Is that what people call hospitality?!?!
