“Perfect Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Friendly Staff , especially to David who took care of our 2 nights stay, just infront of Haymarket Station and bus stop to the airport ( air link express) 15 minutes away from the city - go straight to Princess Street all the way to Waverley Station. Late restaurants open near to the area . For me a perfect location to a convenient stay, highly recommended to those and whose next stop will be London/Dublin/Madrid/Barcelona.

Never stayed here, but sat in there and had a coffee in their wee sleeting area which is nice and comfortable. Staff are friendly and toilet is kept nice and clean. They also have wifi, a computer and iPads available for use and wheelchair access :)

Next time stay as well. Actually quite a few potential guests, having experienced other local hotels have vowed to come here next time. Says a lot I think.

This is such a unique hotel concept- simple, compact hotel rooms, pay for what you need. As a solo traveller, it was great; super clean room, great view of the city & hillside, big TV; decent space, despite the compactness. The location of the hotel can't be beat- Princes Street is a lovely street to walk, and central to a lot of amenities. Haymarket station is right across the street, and taxis are out front as well.

There were definitely some hiccups however; the blackout curtains definitely didn't do the job, being a slightly-later riser than most, it was a bit hard to enjoy a little extra sleep with light coming into the room around 5-6am. In addition, having a room facing the street meant there was noise coming in that began around 6am as well. It's not extremely annoying, but if you're a light sleeper, it could be. I was also awoken from a fire alarm slightly early, a neighbour had apparently taken a slightly steamy shower and set it off; but the staff was quick to respond and very apologetic about it.

Despite the hiccups, it was a great overall stay.

Room Tip: A higher floor room away from the street would be your best bet.

Thanks. Front facing rooms are south facing so sun all day best views. See the hubbub of Edinburgh and feel the vibrancy of a great city. Rear facing rooms a bit quieter, no sun.

Arrived late at night, opted for late check out costing £5 per additional hour from 10am. Hotel is perfect for one night onward travel option, located close to Waverley train station and 15 min bus/taxi ride to/from airport.

Room Tip: Bring towels as this is extra charge

OK, road works were going on, so the taxi had to drop us quite a way from the "hotel". It was raining, and when you entered, you had to go up a small flight of stairs, before you got to reception. Inside the door it was very slippery, and you couldn't go anywhere without using your key card, nightmare! Room and beds OK, but the loo, see through door, I do like my privacy. Didn't like the area, at all. But then I am an old bint. Wouldn't stay again, even if I was offered a free room!

LOL - don't worry - we wouldn't want to give rooms away. That's taking the concept a bit too far. Last August when you stayed. Took a while to write your review, although appreciate your contribution. No road works anymore. Tram working, new 240 seat pub restaurant with access from reception, brand new station at Haymarket. Amazing what can happen in a year.

We stayed there for three nights, the Hotel has an excellent location and the staff is friendly.

The room is very very small, you have to climb on top of the bed to get to the other side or reach the window. The bed is very comfortable though.

The bathroom is nice but the shower is very small too, I had to squeeze to close the shower door.

I did not booked the room directly so I don't know how it works but the towels are not included in the basic rate.

They don't change the towels nor clean the room.

Brilliant all around. Perfect location, too. I particularly liked the comfy bed and the powerful shower. The view was fantastic and the staff was very helpful. Made for a very pleasant stay. The is a pub next doors and many shops around the areas. On the main road to/from the airport.
