“If you can find me a better coffee I will happily eat my hat sir!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

Lovely little coffee shop. As per title they make the best coffe that has ever graced my lips. The owner and his staff are all great guys and always have good banter. If you are on princes street and fancy a coffee and don't go here you have made a grave error!

“Perfect little lunch stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

A lunch spot easily missed because of its size, but look hard it's worth it.

Fresh Half baguette lightly toasted filled with fresh spinach, humous and roasted red pepper perfectly seasoned. Fresh pastries on the counter and a further interesting selection of savoury food stuffs and homemade soup. Very good coffee and a wide selection of teas.

All served gentle politeness , a little oasis.

“Full steam Allpress”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

They use Allpress coffee beans here, a reputable roaster distributing all over the UK, and behind the machine is a person who knows what he's doing. Result: an excellent coffee. Unlike other similar outfits they accept cards (no Amex) and don't charge for this. Prices are very high but in line with the competition. The ambiance could be better, still there's reasonably comfortable room both inside and outside.

“Great wee cafe in the city centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I only discovered this wee cafe recently, and highly recommend it. I've had a take away bagel with halloumi to eat in Princes Street gardens (much superior to anything you'd get at Pret's or M & S's by the way), and have also eaten in - loved the veggie mozarella panini - and had excellent coffee.
And, as lots of other reviews have said the guys who run this place are relaxed and friendly, giving a nice chilled vibe to the cafe. In fact, apart perhaps from Leo's Beanery (also a superb cafe) and Cafe Papii (the woman who runs it, at least), I can't think of an Edinburgh cafe with friendlier staff.
Good music too at the right volume. Having a Guardian newspaper to browse through would be a welcome addition, but apart from that - and being very small, of course - this cafe ticks all the boxes, and is a very welcome addition to the Edinburgh coffee scene.

“awesome coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Small coffee shop with very friendly staff. One of the best coffee in the town! Never had anything to eat there, but coffee is amazing. Highly recommended !
