We really liked the place. Very co-operative and hospitable people. Freshly cooked breakfast with good vegetarian options as well. Its in a very convenient location. The house is very nicely done up and its a perfect combination of an at home feeling with the required privacy. We are so glad that we stayed at Strathallan.

I have stayed at the Strathallan about 20 times over the years, and it never disappoints. Rooms are spotlessly clean, showers hot (no bathtubs) welcome friendly, a bus stop outside the front door (10 minutes to the Royal Mile) - and one of the best cooked breafasts you'll get anywhere. Prices, especially outside high season, are extremely good value. Rooms are single, double and family. Occasionally, when the Strathallan has been full, I have tried other B&Bs in the area, but none matches it. (Indeed, some fall a long way short!)

There are a number of good, moderately-priced restaurants in the area, and some nice pubs and coffee bars. It's a studenty type area, and very friendly.

Room Tip: As usual, a room at the back is quieter, and you get a view of the Pentland Hills.

A pleasant b&b, with a nice 4-bed room and good breakfast, in a very good location for visiting the town. 15 minutes to walk to Royal Mile, a lot of buses stopping in front of the House, a small but useful private parking, good prices, easy to reach from the City Bypass... If we happen to go again to Edinburgh we'll surely stay here again

This is a spacious room and a useful location. However we depend on the wifi Internet connection, which did not work for us here. We are using iPhone 4s and iPad 2, which have worked at five other hotels on this trip, as well as various hotspots. Despite several conversations, the management made no effort to rectify the problem with their network. (sometimes a problem of this nature can be rectified by just rebooting the router).

This is my kind of hotel: affordable, comfortable and within easy access to the main sights in town. Room 3 on the 2nd floor is beautiful and larger than our first room next to the dining room.
Stained glass window on the staircase is worth a trip up the stairs anyway. Access to downtown
(Old and New Towns) was quick and easy with the bus stop 1-2 houses away and a 10 minute ride approximately to the North Bridge area and train station; buses are frequent with times for upcoming buses displayed. Their full Scottish breakfast was filling and tasty. Eamon and his family were quite helpful. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. We slept very well all 3 nights.

Room Tip: Room 3 is beautiful with ample space.
