We stayed here during a holiday visit to Edinburgh (from the U.S.) and found it very comfortable. It's a 3-story house on a side street, and one can go by bus from a stop just across the street to the "tourist" area in 10 minutes. Our nicely furnished room on the 3rd floor does fit the images on the website to a T. Our hostess was cordial and helpful,and we enjoyed very nice breakfasts served in a bright cheerful morning room.

One note: You must be able to climb stairs. There are 2 flights of wide stairs to the 2nd floor rooms, but a small winding staircase to the 3rd floor rooms. However, the host or son of the house was there to carry our luggage for us which we much appreciated!

Just returned from a stay and would like to recommend Craigmoss in Edinburgh as a perfect B&B to stay at.
Very good location being on a main bus route to and from the town centre with bus stops right outside the place both into and from town.
The bus service generally in Edinburgh is excellent too.

The breakfast at Craigmoss was excellent in both choice and quality.

Isabelle(the lady of the house) is very friendly,helpful and knowledgeable of the area which is very useful if one is not too sure of the best options when contemplating visiting.

I intend to return and would thoroughly recommend the whole experience.

My sister and I stayed at the Heriot Hill apartment for 2 nights. Isabelle was very helpful in making our stay comfortable and convenient. Both the bed and the sleeper sofa were very comfortable. The kitchen was great as well. The bathroom is small but the shower was wonderful! We walked everywhere from here or bus/taxis are readily available. Be sure to see the Royal Botanic Gardens which are very close by!

We stayed for a long weekend at Craigmoss in September 2007. The guesthouse itself is situated in a good position to use as a base to see Edinburgh, with several bus routes into the city, and some good pubs and restaurants nearby. We were welcomed by a friendly staff who were happy to help and provided excellent information on things to see and places to eat. The room was clean and homely, with a private bathroom across the hall (clean dressing gowns were provided) and had a large window, comfortable bed, tv, hairdryer and kettle. Breakfasts were well cooked and presented, with a good range of choice including porridge and full cooked breakfast. All in all we had a superb time in Edinburgh, aided by a pleasant and friendly guesthouse, and will certainly be looking to return in the future.
