“You won't want to stop anywhere else”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

We've just come back from out second visit to the residence as a surprise birthday treat for my fiancé. From the moment you arrive your made to feel like your the most important guests they've ever had and coming from a modest home it's customer service that truly makes you feel special. When they realised it was a birthday trip we were upgraded, shown to our apartment and 5 mins later there was a knock on the door, Neil was there holding 2 glasses of champagne. Class.
The 2 days flow by and wish we'd booked a week. Thank you for everything the staff at the Residence

I will definitely return to this hotel but for a longer stay next time. The hotel, its staff, its location and its amenities are all excellent. This is a boutique hotel but without any of the quirks you put up with in a boutique style. The accommodation is luxurious, the staff are beyond charming and gracious and highly well trained. It is in an ideal location with easy walking to the centre but very quiet from loud traffic. I normally wouldn't choose a boutique hotel, but was only in Edinburgh for 2 nights and just went with the #1 pick because I didn't care too much to do research. Clearly everyone who rated this are legitimate clients because it was excellent. In fact it was more than excellent, because the staff welcome you like you are an old friend returning for the umpteenth time. I absolutely loved Edinburgh, but it was in large part because of The Chester Residence.

Incredible hotel. Fantastic service and luxurious accommodations. I got upgraded from Chester to Rothesay place and the unit was immaculate. The kitchen was particularly spacious and would be great for a group of people.

No reason so stay anywhere else in Edinburgh.

Our second visit to The Chester Residence and yet again, superb from the minute we arrived. Staff excellent - very attentive, friendly and down to earth. We stayed in a different apartment from the first time but again, were very pleased indeed - luxurious and incredibly comfortable with loads of space. We would not consider staying anywhere else when visiting Edinburgh and look forward to our next visit!

This was our 3rd time staying at The Chester Residence, the first time being a few years ago and it was nice to see how it has developed into a well run, luxury residence without losing any of its friendly & helpful customer service. All the staff clearly share the 'vision' that has been created for the Chester and they treat it as if its their own. We instantly felt welcome in the cosy bar while we waited for our room which was ready for us to move in to 15 mins after arriving (still hours before the normal check in time).
We were staying in the new block, apartment 6/2 which was one of the grand rooms. It had the usual luxury decor and amenities and there was instantly a nice relaxing feel about it. The only downside was that the tv in our bathroom was not working properly. I pointed this out to reception in the evening and in fairness they did offer to come and try and fix it however I was already using the bath.
When we returned in the evening after the rugby we were served by a really friendly staff member Matthew who made me a lovely cocktail and made us feel very welcome just before leaving to order, collect and deliver a takeaway to another couples apartments - they definitely go the extra mile to satisfy their customers requirements.
Another excellent in our favourite hotel in Edinburgh - we can't wait to return for some more luxurious relaxation!

Hi , i have just spent 2 nights in one of the Chester Residences brilliant appartments .
Normally i would stay in any of the 4 or 5 star hotels in and around Princes St or the Royal Mile. However as this was a late booking to watch the rugby with my 20 year old son . We found getting a twin room for 2 nights at less then £500.00 quite difficult . I eventually came across the Chester Residence . They charged £365.00 for 2 nights in a wonderful appartment that offered a separate lounge , kichen dinner , with an open fire, lots of lovely furniture and suround sound TV.
The room looked like something out of Grand Designs ...very modern and trendy, but with a traditional twist. The Bathroom was great and our bedroom had plenty of space for us both to swan around happily. However, this was eclipsed by the service...which was beyond 5* . Even this morning at 7.00am when i phoned reception to ask f they had a disposable shaver , 3 minutes later there was a knock on the door , and hey presto...i could have a shave .
All in all a truly great experience.

We arrived a little early before check in, but felt instantly welcome as soon as we walked through the doors and loved the feel of the place. The accommodation matched the things we had read about The Chester Residence, and really was luxury home from home. We loved the decor, it was very clean and the little extras like proper coffee, dressing gowns, milk already in the fridge were great touches. We will be back and thankyou for making us feel so welcome...
