This is a lovely guest, very well run, in a lovely location. I came here for three nights with my husband and my two young daughters. The room was great, clean and quiet. Breakfast was very good, excellent choice. My daughters were also well accomodated for, they certainly didnt go hungry. Portobello, where the Ardgarth is located, is lovely a really contrast with busy Edinburgh. Not many places to eat in the evening though. Excellent bus service to get into Edinburgh.

I would recommend this guest house, when we were there there were several nationalites there so I think it is very popular. The owner had plenty of books on Scotland and Edinburgh and although we didnt ask I can imagine she woudl have been a wealth of useful information if required.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were made very welcome by our hosts Richard and Ursula. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was outstanding. Situated in the suburbs of Portobello not far from the beach we were only 20 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh and on a good bus and night bus route. We would recommend the Ardgarth and will be going back.

Ursula´s B&B is more than a lovely location for staying in Edinburgh for some nights. The room was quite large and authentic. Everything, from the welcome with tea, shortbread and toffees above the atmosphere, the breakfast and at least the organisation of our staying was simply perfect.

The B&B is located in Portobello, about one minute walk away from the sea. It takes about 25 minutes getting into the centre of Edinburgh (Weaverly Station) by bus. The busses run frequently every 10 minutes, a day ticket is 2,50 BP.

A wonderful location, it has the beach and promenade virtually on the doorstep and the location gave us an ideal opportunity to explore the fringe festival and be able to return to our relaxing guest house. The bus route to Edinburgh is 30 seconds away.

All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful throughout our 6 night stay. Our 5 year old was made to feel very happy and this enabled us to relax.

The rooms were excellent very spacious and clean at all times.

We must also mention Reds restaurant. A great child friendly environment with a very adult feel to the cafe by day and restaurant by night.
