We Stayed at Gerald's Place in July 2007 for 3 nights. We had a lovely stay and received a very warm welcome. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Gerald made us feel very welcome and was an excellent host. The location was fantastic for the city centre.

We always like to stay in small B&B's because of the kind and personal treatment you receive, the homely decoration and the cleanness. Gerald's place was absolutely up to our high demandings! The house is very nice with a lot of pictures on the wall, Gerald and his sister (who looked after us two days) are very kind, like to give advice and to help you when needed. The breakfast is very good and the food is bought and cooked for you with a lot of attention! You musn't mind sitting at the same breafast table as the other guests...but we enjoyed talking to our fellow breakfast guests :-) One other very positive thing and very modern! is the laptop that is especially for the use of the guests.
We certainly would recommend this B&B to our family and friends.

Gerald's Place is without a doubt the most comfortable B&B I have ever stayed in. The rooms are clean and the beds are superb. Gerald, the host, gives you everything you could possibly wish to know about what to do in Edinburgh, and is extremely gracious and charming. The breakfast are entirely organic, and he has travelled all over the city to find the best products, which shows in the delicious spread that is offered every morning. Free internet access from the rooms, a digi box, and a digital radio, along with all the types of coffee and tea you could possibly hope for mean you don't really want to leave your room!
If you are going to Edinburgh, there is no other place to go!

I used Trip Advisor to find a spot in Edinburgh, Gerald's Place had the best reviews, so I booked for 3 nights. When I called Gerald to confirm our reservation we ended up chatting like old friends and he gave me some very helpful advice since we were arriving early in the morning after an overnight flight that landed in Glascow. When we arrived on Gerald's doorstep at 8:30 am we were given a warm welcome and very good advice on dealing with the time change. For the 3 days we were with Gerald he went out of his way to make our stay perfect. His place had every perk you could ask for from a very comfortable bed, a powerful shower / bathtub, fresh flowers, DVD's and a fabulous variety of fresh food, even homemade bread! Gerald walked us through all the resources he had available for our use, including a great guide book for Edinburgh, he even knew the bus schedule for us to get to Rosslyn Chapel! The B&B is convieniently located within easy walking distance of the Old Town, so we were able to come and go as we wanted. It was clean, comfortable and the best B&B we have ever stayed at! We will be back!
