Gerald managed to accommodate me at short notice and took tremendous pains to make me feel comfortable and relaxed as well as recommending just the right place to eat out on Saturday evening. Early breakfast on Sunday morning was no problem and he was happy for my student daughter to join me. I'll be back!

Thanks to Gerald and his wonderful attention to detail, our whole weekend was simply perfect. Staying at 'Gerald's Place' really made the holiday for both of us and Gerald is as delightful as Edinburgh itself!
We intend to visit Edinburgh again and will do so.......so long as Gerald has a vacancy!!

My girlfriend and I have just come back from a four night stay with Gerald and all the good reviews you've read here are the whole truth and more! I can honestly say that it was more akin to staying with a friend than a B&B, he was a great host and his home was a delighful place to stay in. And the breakfast's, well, let's just say that lunch becomes an optional extra!! Needless to say if we ever go back to Edinburgh his wlll be the first place we call upon.

Cheers Gerald

Gerald's Place is truly a real B&B experience. Genuine cooked breakfasts, mamoth amount of helpful hints and little conversations and tips that make staying B&B's so much more an "experience" rather than staying in a hotel.

If you are heading to Edinburgh and lookig for a real B&B experience - Gerald's place is the one to choose. These must have been the most comfortbale beds we have stayed in throughout our European travels...

Make sure you leave space for the awesome morning breakfasts - including all that you would expect from a Scot's breaky...

What can I say about Gerald and our wonderful stay there? My wife and I and our two closest friends rented both rooms for about a week in November, 2007.

Gerald's attention to detail is immaculate. He has carefully considered all the things one might want to do while visiting Edinburgh (please see pictures of some of the sites attached to this review), then amassed a wealth of maps, reviews, suggestions and directions to all of those places or events. He is a fount of both useful and fun information and history of Edinburgh and so much more.

Gerald is a delightful host. Once ensconced in his cozy and comfortable home, you are his guest, not merely a boarder. He is genuinely happy to meet, educate and elucidate his guests. He takes his position as a host very seriously, meaning your comfort is of paramount importance to him. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, well supplied with whatever you might need. The breakfasts are delicious, varied and plentiful - you will not head out to the streets of Edinburgh hungry.

In summary, our stay at Gerald's place was awesome. Very clean, comfortable and relaxed. However, it still remains that Gerald is the best part of Gerald's Place. What a pleasant, kind and generous host. Gerald would make a lengthy stay in a cold, wet dungeon more than bearable. Thanks Gerald!
