We stayed here for three nights in June and were very impressed. The owner was very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and being in the suburbs didn't detract in the slightest. It was easy to catch a bus at the bottom of the street or the walk via Holyrood was not too far. The breakfast selection was great and the food excellent. There was also internet access in the lounge which was very handy. The only small problem were the stairs to our room on the third floor - heavy cases didn't help. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!!!

Stayed here May 2004 on the basis of the previous reviews and was not disapointed. The hosts are friendly, the house is clean and well-kept, and the breakfast is delicious. While it may be slightly more convenient to stay on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh can get very noisy at night and this quiet neighborhood is only a short bus or cab ride away. If you like to walk, I would highly reccomend walking into town along the Salisbury Crags at least once for the beautiful views of Edinburgh.

Not exactly "nestled at the foot of the Salisbury Crags" but you can get there in 10 minutes on foot, and have a hike with terrific views of the city. The B&B sits in a suburb, a quiet residential area on a street with other guest houses. The immediate neighborhood is not a bad place for a walk itself, and it's quiet and well-kept- lots of old stone houses and beautiful trees. If you are driving you may have to park around the block but the area seems very safe. Double decker city busses only 80m from doorstep, running frequently to downtown. Guest rooms and breakfast room bright and clean; very friendly, young owner. The place could use a few improvements in the bathrooms and a larger hot water tank, but these minor things will not alter my top rating.
