I stayed at Aonach Mor for work and then with my partner for a couple of days in Edinburgh and it really was a fabulous place. The owners are very friendly and helpful as were all the other staff, breakfasts very tasty and everything really well organised. The building was lovely with cosy communal breakfast room, all mod cons internet etc. The rooms were also fab, in particular their Jacobean room which we stayed in for the weekend nights was definately worth the extra. It was a great place to relax and unwind and the steam bath relaxing after the walking in and out of Edinburgh. Finally really well located, just far enough out of Edinburgh to be quiet but an easy walk into town. Also very good access to the university if you're working there.
All in all it definately does what it says on the tin.

My husband and I stayed at this guest house for 2 nights. It was a great experience. Ross gave us helpful suggestions and information about the Edinburgh area. The breakfasts were delicious! Wonderful.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Aonach Mor GH and it was a very enjoyable stay. The City of Edinburgh is wonderful and so is the service in the house. The rooms are nicely decorated, the location is excellent and the breakfast superb. Free internet access is also available, which was appreciated.

Only two negatives are the very small room and the price which might be a bit expensive. Still we don't regret staying here.

I stayed here on a school trip for three days, from May 21- May 23. There isn't one negative thing I can say about it. The beds were very comfortable.

The sitting/ dining room was very comfortable. And the breakfast was wonderful. Ask to see if they have the belgian waffles.

Ross, the owner, was very helpful in getting me around the city when I didn't know where I was going, which was often.

I can't recommend Aonach Mor strongly enough.

From the moment we walked into Aonoch Mor Ross made us feel as if we were visiting family rather than paying guests. He is genuinely interested in his guests and ensuring that they have the best experience they can in Edinburgh. Our room was fresh and lovely with a good supply of tea, coffee and toiletries to pamper ourselves at the end of the day. Ross and Mary went more than the extra mile with suggestions, providing information and even booking our day trips for us. The restaurants he recommended were excellent. The walk he encouraged us to take on our first day over the Salisbury Crags set the tone for our entire visit. Every breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. (We'll be back for the smoked salmon!) On two mornings when we had to leave before breakfast was served, he wrapped fresh croissants so that we have something to start our day. This was the third and final B & B on a two week trip through England and Scotland and far and beyond the best. Thank you Ross for all the extra touches, including your sense of humour, in making our Edinburgh adventure the best it could be.
