From the excellent room service to the central location, this is a place to return to.
Having a facade retaining an old stone church tower frontage, this very modern boutique hotel is situated behind and is clever blend into the new development adjacent.
This was the only downside, noisy drunks in the early morning, but if your room is overlooking the rooftop garden then I doubt whether this would be an issue.
The beds were turned down every night and the touch of a Scottish Thistle head and a fresh bottle of water each night (Bear in mind Edinburgh tap water is a yellowy-brown colour) was a nice touch, as was the honesty bar.
Very comfortable beds with dreamy pillows and a bathroom with a lovely big shower made our stay memorable. Despite the price, the breakfast is certainly worthwhile, so dont be tempted to skimp here.
Parking is very convenient under the adjacent centre, and you will get a discount, although it is cheaper across the road beneath John Lewis.
Very very central, none of the stuffiness associated with some of the more established hotels which would benefit refurbishment in a style that does not attempt to imitate the Glasshouse.
A refreshing change to the normal 4/5 star places that gain their stars by jamming in tiny gyms and swimming pools.
We look forward to stopping here again.
