We stayed at the Glasshouse for our anniversary in April and we'll definitely be back. From the moment you step through the door there's a definite sense of luxury. Everything is beautifully decorated, the staff very courteous and there's a real attention to detail. The rooms are amazing: beautifully laid out with big, comfy beds and duvets & pillows you want to take home (some people probably did which might be why there's a price list covering practically everything that moves - or can be moved - in the rooms!). The bathroom is equally lovely, with a bath, a large walk-in shower, candles and luxury toiletries. Although the room we stayed in wasn't huge, there was still a separate seating area inside as well as patio doors leading out onto the roof terrace which - on the 2 days per year it doesn't rain in Edinburgh - must have great views! There's also a communal seating area inside with an 'honesty bar'. Breakfast wasn't included in our deal and was rather too pricey but, otherwise, a wonderful experience.

from the moment we arrived, to be met by william, the doorman, a character indeed...to the wonderful ensuite bedroom which led on to the roof terrace, with spectacular views of calton hill. nice touches include, turn down service, lit candles, and a lovely thistle laid on the bed for your return at night, and a complimentary bottle of still water. the bed was really comfy, the staff really friendly, and the breakfast, which was included in the price was fantastic...stuffed to say the least. i would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will stay again when in edinburgh.
keep away from the mini bar though...really expensive.

We have just spent a night in the Glasshouse for my boyfriends birthday. The hotel was great and the service was even better. Worth every penny - we will definately be back!

WITHOUT RESERVATION,HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We are a family of three. Our accomodation included a comfortable 'put-up' bed for our 8yrs old daughter, and full breakfast (not to be missed - even at a price!).
When William, the doorman, approached our car to get our lugguage, I thought it was a Mafia 'hit' (check out the fedora & long overcoat!).What a smashing chap, and, like the rest of the staff, extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was clean, well appointed, modern and very classy. The Egyptian cotton bed sheets were worth the stay on their own! The standard room included a living space with french doors from which access to a large grassed, communal, designer garden - very chique. Also, a fashionable and comfortable self-serve bar zone.
Excellent location - minimum staggering distance from Harvey Nicks...........

My husband and I have just had a night in the glasshouse and were very impressed with it. We had a suite and it was absolutely stunning, very light and very modern with a great terrace. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was also stunning, with a very large bath. I note someone else has commented on the bath water being brown, I can confirm this seems to be the same everywhere in Edinburgh, as we had spent the previous night in a different hotel and found the same thing there.

There are lots of little extra's that make this hotel stand out, it scored 10/10 with us.
