Unfortunately I only stayed here one night because i was there on a business trip. The hotel was nicely decorated and the rooms used a lot of glass to make it look extremely stylish. It was spacious and the room opened in to a garden balcony which made it feel very cosy. Location of the hotel is fine, within walking distance of Princess Street where my office is located and where it's all happening. Breakfast was probably one of the best I had during my one week stay in London/Edinburgh. I'm not sure about value for money though since my company paid for all but whatever it was I think it was well worth it.

My wife took me here for my birthday and I couldnt have been happier. The hotel looks fantastic from the outside, in an ideal place in the city. The doorman was brilliant, very friendly and very helpful, as were the rest of the staff.

The room itself was exceptionally nice, with a large roomy bathroom, a very comfortable bed and the decor was excellent.

Very impressed with the mini-bar, and the honesty bar was a nice touch to just chill out.

Would certainly recommened.

We were led to believe that this was a five star hotel. However it is more like a posh hostel, with no real bar or restaurant, no ambiance, and small rooms. The design of the hotel is very offputting. Its a long corridor on a larger entertainment complex. The atrium at the front is distant from the rooms. The honesty bar is just a way for the hotel to save money. Its very different from what I would expect from a real five star.

  • Liked — Good Breakfast
  • Disliked — Claimed to be five star, but was not.

Was lucky enough to have got a fantastic rate for this hotel and was upgraded, hotel reception is a bit different but nice and personal, staff were really helpful and the decanter of whiskey was a nice touch(if you like whiskey) room and shower / bathroom were fantastic bed was probably the most comfortable i have ever had in a hotel. did not try the honesty bar but looked very pleasant, people sitting around having a quiet drink and a chat. Great location and the roof top garden looks very nice (not in November thou) watch out for the glass door leading out to it, the other couple we went with, my mate walked straight into the glass door nearly knocking him out, and he was sober.
fantastic hotel not sure i would of booked it at full price thou

dispite what the visit Scotland plaque on the wall said the Glass House is NOT a 5 star hotel, furnishings were ok, but room was small, mirror six feet up the wall (impossible for female to dry hair and look in the mirror), bathroom floor flooded with the shower, glass cubicle lets the water out!, sky sports news channel not working (on a saturday with football on not the best)
over priced mini bar, a souless place with no atmosphere,no bar, no restuarant. We were electronically locked out of our room at 11 am check out time with no warning, had to find housekeeping staff to open room so we could collect our case!!! this hotel does not deliver the expectation of a 5star hotel
