Let me say first of all, this hotel is very good and I would recommend it to others, but felt it could, so easily, be much better.

I expected and was led to beleive by the hotels website that this is an ultra modern hotel. My first dissapointment therefore came when we were shown to our room and saw there wasn't even a flatscreen TV in it.

The 'wet room' was quite quirky but not very practiable and was dissapointed there was no bath.

During our 2 night stay no one even entered our room to make up the bed or change the towels! I ended up having to ask receptiuon for new towels and got a long story about how the cleaning staff finished at 5 pm but eventually got some.

There is no restuarant or Spa and despite having been told about the discounted rates for car parking in the nearby carpark and having got our ticket stamped accordingly we were still charged the full £12 per day rate.

It was an enjoyable stay but think there are far better hotels in Edinburgh.

We stayed here over valentines week and were given an upgraded room because we were staying a little longer. These rooms are worth it particularly if you are going in the summer months as they open out onto a small terrace and the rooftop garden.
Everything about the room was great, modern clean bathroom, lovely comfortable bed, unusual layout but good if your not too traditionalist in what you expect
The hotel doesnt have anything going on, ie the bar is an honesty bar and the reception is a little clinical. But if you want a great room in the heart of edinburgh then its ideal. Just make sure you get an offer as its not worth the full rate

I stayed for 3 days at this hotel in a short trip to Edinburgh. The hotel located on a busy road, however the room (my room) is unbelievably quiet. The garden setting in the center part of the hotel is serene and peaceful. The room is clean, nice bed, everything is excellent. 5 minutes walk will takes you to the town center. The only problem is trying to understand the english with scottish accent of the hotel staffs. Overall its two thumbs up.

My boyfriend and i stayed here in Jan for 2 nights.

We booked 2 nights through lastminute.com and as we live in Devon we booked flights through easyjet from Bristol to Edinburgh.

The flights were very quick and easy, when we got to the airport we hopped on the bus outside into the city centre - really easy to do and very cheap, it drops you off right in the middle of Edinburgh, takes about 20mins from the airport.

The hotel is very easy to find, just off of one of the main streets, it looks amazing from the front. We checked in easily and were shown to our room, we had a standard room at the side of the hotel with a balcony over looking the city. I loved the room, the bed really is great and so is the rest of the room, next time i will upgrade to the next because i think it would be worth every penny.

The honesty bar is a nice idea although im not sure why you would spend much time there as there are so many nice places to eat in Edinburgh.

We found everything very easy to find with the help of a map, you must go to the castle and the shopping is good.

I would definatly go back to this hotel as it is very close to everything and is perfect for a romantic weekend away.

My Husband and I stayed at The Glasshouse for one night ( 29th Feb 2008 ) as a treat for his birthday. It was lovely, I had requested a high floor and quiet location. We were given a room with access to the roof terrace. Amazing.

We only booked a standard room, but it was fab, very well done, clean, large bed, fab shower, deep bath, great view.

We were greeted by a wonderful doorman, all the staff we encountered were polite and extreamly helpful.

I would defiantley recommend this hotel, and we will be going back in the summer to make more use of the terrace !

Enjoy !
