This has to be the most welcoming place I have ever stayed. The Stuarts is in a perfect location, being a short and attractive walk from the city centre but still blissfully quiet at night. The room I stayed in was very large, and with a beautiful spacious and modern shower-room. Breakfasts were lovely, eaten with other guests and Gloria (hostess) around the heirloom table in the dining room. I loved the friendliness and informality backed up with comfort and attention to detail. Highly recommended!!

Seemed to be pretty average, not what we expected by the reviews, but maybe we had just built it up. Rooms were fine food ok service not bad.
Try some where different next time.

This set of rooms in the ground and basement level of a Victorian apartment building across from a large open park called the Meadows is an ideal spot for a visit to Edinburgh. The rooms are airy and large enough to do yoga, the bathrooms modern and spotless, and the appointments include not merely the iron, mini-fridge, and the electric kettle, but also a big robe. Breakfast -- the vegetarian Scotch was a big hit during my stay -- is eaten in an elegant room looking out on the garden. Gloria Stuart, who hosted me, is knowledgable, helpful, and gracious. The finishing touch is a convenient, central location, but a quiet street.

I have read some of the other reviews and agree with all that I read.

This B&B is absolutely unbeatable and the feeling really is one of home from home (as mentioned in some of the other reviews). I couldn't imagine a better introduction to Edinburgh. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable, the breakfasts fantastic and the location excellent. And all this is topped off with friendly and knowledgeable conversation at the breakfast table with Gloria (we didn’t get to meet Jon) and the other guests.

We recently returned from a trip to the British Isles and the Stuarts B&B is truly wonderful. The Stuarts are warm, friendly and very helpful. They provide a printed information sheet with all the details about transportation, restaurants and stores in the area. The room was thoughtfully appointed and very quiet and comfortable. The room is stocked with every amenity that you might need and more including a fridge with complimentary wine and mineral water, snacks, TV, VCR, hairdryer, curling iron, sewing kit, shoes shine kit and more. The huge, luxurious bathroom has a large tub and a large separate shower, lots of counter space, comfy robes, a pull out rack for drying hand washables, a heated towel rack, shampoo, bath gel, soaps and lotions. The B&B is in a great location that is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from the city center and near a bus stop. Several good restaurants are within easy walking distance. They serve a delicious breakfast that is cooked to order using quality ingredients. They have a lovely dining room with a communal table and it’s a pleasure to compare travel notes with the other guests and to chat with the Stuarts. Highly recommended.
