i was in edinburgh for a concert. we stayed the premier inn, princess street edinburgh. very good hotel, clean friendly. restaurant was lovely had our evening meal there. staff could not be more helpful. our room was clean, bed very comfortable had a good nights sleep.we did not have breakfast there. you could go to debenhamds up the road from the hotel and get a lovely breakfast for £4.00.

recommend this hotel for cleanliness and location and of course the price.

Spending 4 days/3 nights in Edinburgh I was pretty lucky to get two rooms in this hotel, perfectly located in the main shopping street of the Scottish capital, right below the beautiful view of
the Castle.

I found the usual perfect service that these Inns provide with nice rooms, good breakfast and kind/helpful personnel.

Pretty sure to use again this hotel in case I visit again this beautiful town.

On Princes Street this hotel is in an excellent position for The New Town and close to all the major shops and restaurants. If you get a room on Princes Street you will have superb views of the castle. Rooms and bathrooms are the usual spotless standard of Premier Inns with comfortable beds. Didn't eat in the hotel as we prefer to go out. About a 10 minute walk to the Old Town. A bus to The Royal Yacht Britania (well worth a visit!) stops right outside the hotel. Would stay here again.

I came to Edinburgh in December 2011 and stayed here. It was perfect. We needed somewhere close as my go was pregnant, we needed comfy beds and a good breakfast, which we got.
It was snowing at the time and I actually proposed in the snow outside the castle on this trip so I have fond memories.
Great location, great rooms, great breakfast, great price. What more do you need for a short city break!

We stayed at this Premier Inn for the second leg of our stay in Edinburgh (our other stay was at the Premier Inn on Lauriston Place). This location was the better of the two, and the rooms were slightly nicer than that other location. More power outlets, and better views.

We have to also commend the person who checked us in. She went out of her way to be helpful, and accommodated our request the next day for a room change so that we could see the castle from our room. Slightly more expensive than the location on Lauriston Place, and worth it.

Room Tip: If you're a Starbucks fan, go to the location around the corner on Georges Street in the middle...

This is a well-run budget hotel in a fantastic location. The amazing view of Edinburgh Castle from room and from hotel dining room provided us a great of deal of pleasure as we recovered from jet lag after California/Scotland journey. Being able to walk to many attractions in central Edinburgh was another bonus. Train station is an easy walk from hotel. Rooms and service are on the spare side, but we were quite comfortable overall. Staff were friendly. I followed advice from previous reviewers about calling desk in advance to request castle-view room and would recommend this approach.

Room Tip: Call hotel on Princes Street to request castle-view room. Central reservations office for Premier I...

Great location right opposite the castle. Self check in quick and efficient but also had staff at reception to check in if preferred. Lovely staff, very clean and all you expect from a premier inn. Breakfast staff great, food hot and always ready with plenty of choice
