“Budget hotel, with a luxury view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

Premier Inn Princes Street is a great hotel, fantastic central location, great view of the castle if you are lucky enough to get a room at the front and all for a budget price. The service from the staff was excellent.

I will be staying here again and would recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a Castle view but not guarunteed to get one, but I did

My husband and I are touring the U.K. and we picked this location for the location itself. When we arrived, the receptionist was friendly and took our bags while our room was getting fixed. We stayed here for 3 nights, one of which was our first year anniversary. The staff put us in the best room and we had the most amazing view of the castle for 3 nights - super romantic and certainly appreciated. On the actual day of our anniversary there was a card in our room from the hotel with such kind words -
very appreciated! Aside from the amazing customer service the location is close to the castle, the old Edinburgh (by the castle) and on the main shopping strip. Room was clean ans overall 5 stars. Highly recommend for your trip to Edinburgh. It's got everything you need to make your trip amazing. Thank you to the staff!

I am quite picky but everything was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Place was very clean although the room smelt a bit funny. Maybe to do with non opening windows but the a/c was great. Breakfast selection good and plenty of it. 1/2 hr free wi-fi and only £3 for 24hrs after that.
Didn't hear a sound all night which is great for somewhere right in the heart of the city.
All in all very good value for money.

It was a good location and a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and was at your every need. I would recommend it is not far from the city center. we were there for two nights for a concert and I would go back and stay again the rooms were clean and comfy if only every premier inn was like this.

What lovely friendly staff! My husband arrived first on his solo walk from John o Groats to Lands End, he was greeted by a lovely checking in lady and when I arrived came over to greet me. She was lovely in checking he had everything he needed and was ok.
The rooms were very clean, and nice to be in, the food in both the evening and for breakfast was good, the breakfast being an excellent choice of foods.
The view from the breakfast and evening restaurant was looking at the castle, there could not be a better location.
My bed was a little hard but that's a personal preference.
I would highly recommend and we will be going back , to see more of such a beautiful city and to stay in a great location.

Room Tip: It's all above the street level so no ground noise. We didn't have a great view but the loun...

Stayed Friday (3rd May) night till Monday (6th May) in Edinburgh Premier Inn on Princes Street. 10/10 for location - room had a stunning view of the castle. Facilities in the family room were fine - the room was on the small side, plus no fridge which with kids is a minor issue.
The staff were very very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent - the dinner (we took a meal deal) was Ok and on one night (saturday) the food in the evening was not up to the usual standard (my wife's Salmon was a little dry) - would also benefit from a more extensive kids menu as well - a little harsh from me but my little boy is a fusspot.
Overall and excellent stay made even better by great staff and will definately stay again!
