“Staff are fab.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

staff fab, room fab, location fab, view fab.
The staff were super friendly from start to finish. Lovely breakfast in the morning. The rooms are just right and its very quiet so you can get an excellent nights sleep. Located on princes street just a short walk from waverley station. plenty of shops bars and restaurants and attractions near by. I cannot fault the place really. This is a very friendly and welcoming city. Thanks again. :)

No complaints. You know what to expect in a Premier Inn and this one is no different The location is superb for central Edinburgh and the Castle with easy access to shops on your door step. I would recommend.

Ideal location opposite castle with lovely views, wee bit noisy on street side if window open, and we like it open, but not bad. I had a bad fall and staff were so kind, even sent a wee get well card up to room which was a lovely gesture!
Beds comfy and spacious with lovely duvet and pillows
Breakfast room had lovely views of castle and staff exceptionally friendly and warm,,most relaxing and enjoyable.
Great budget hotel, only moan would be why insist on photographic evidence of id if paying cash..really annoying!

Stayed here Friday and Saturday night at the beginning of February. We arrived early at Edinburgh Airport and got the Airporter bus which dropped us off about 2 minutes from the hotel on Princess Street. (This was a hell of a lot cheaper than a taxi and very easy to use).
This was the first time staying at a Premier Inn. We picked this one mainly for location and value for money. Arrival at the front door it doesn't look like much sandwiched between two shops, however I'm pleased to say this was deceiving. Once through the door you take a lift to the second floor and the reception. We arrived early in the morning, before the 2pm check in. We were able to leave our luggage in reception then went sightseeing for a few hours. On our return there was a different member of staff at reception 'Scott', he was really pleasant and helpfull, and with a bit of juggling managed to get us a room with a view of the Castle. Room 417. The view of the Castle was superb. I could not believe the quality of the room that we had. Well decorated, great comfortable bed, tea/coffee making facilities, tv, hairdryer, loads of space, spotlessly clean. The on-suite was also spotless, shower gel and hand wash dispensers were also provided. There was also a controllable heating system in the room, but the room was warm enough without it. We paid the extra £8.50 each for the all you can eat breakfast, the choice and quality was superb and well worth the money.
Some other people have complained about traffic noise when in one of the front rooms, we were not bothered by any at all.
The staff were all really friendly. We will definitely stay at a Premier Inn again if they are all like this......SUPERB.

Stayed here with the wife feb 15 to feb 17 excellent base to get around Edinburgh everything basically on your doorstep shops, bars and restaurants etc..... We had room 421 emailed ahead and asked for castle view which the hotel sorted out no problem or extra charge, we booked the breakfast at the hotel and it was excellent all you can eat with everything you need and if they don't have what you want they will make it for you! PS dirty dicks on rose street excellent for food portions are massive!

This hotel was a great find. Freya on reception was helpful and efficient nothing was too much trouble. We had two rooms both overlooking the castle. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The bed linen pillows and towels were perfect. The location of the hotel is as central as you could get but the rooms must be sound proofed as you couldn't hear anything outside. Breakfast was also very nice and great value. By far the best premier inn I've ever stayed in and great value too if you book in advance. Do ask for a castle view.

We Couldnt ask for a better place to stay. Cheap, spotless and breakfast is great. Staff polite and cheerful.
Only downside is the poor bar facilitys. Over priced bottles and cans of beer. Other wise, one of premier inns best hotels.
