I stayed at Kew House during the Fringe Festival this summer for 4 nights. Alan and Ian are the perfect hosts, courteous and helpful from the moment i arrived until the time i left.
The room was beautifully decorated and clean, and the bad was very comfortable. the same goes for the en-suite bathroom.
The hotel also offers you free access to the internet and email in the guest lounge (which is cosy and lovely by the way).
The hotel is situated very close to the city center (about 15mins walk), but there are also plenty of buses running right past the door if needed.
Breakfast was delicious, with everything on the menu including eggs, toast, variety of cereal, different kinds of meat, muffins, juices, teas and coffee and so on.
All and all, a wonderful b&b for a reasonable rate, and i highly recommend it. i know i'm looking forward to my next visit.

I just returned from my annual two weeks in Edinburgh. Kew House is better than ever, since the airport bus now stops across the street. While it is only a 15 minute walk from downtown Edinburgh, or a 5 minute bus ride, Key House is just far enough from the all-night party that is Festivals to allow some rest and a good night's sleep (on a comfortable bed in a lovely room).
I have been coming to Kew House since 2002, when a totally booked hotel nearby suggested them. Ian and Alan are terrific hosts, with great senses of humor plus really good information and advice about what to do, where to go, and how to get there. They always have a good new restaurant to recommend, along with their tried and true favorites. And they actually eat out regularly so they can offer up to date recommendations.
Alan runs the kitchen beautifully, offering a broad choice of full cooked breakfasts as well as snacks. He really knows how to do eggs to order! And there is always fresh fruit to take along for the day.
Ian provides a computer in the sitting room for guest use. He has set up the important web sites for things like Fringe tix and weather reports, so we can quickly do whatever we need before or after our day.
As a single traveler, I have never felt more welcome than I do every year at Kew House. It really helps to make my Edinburgh trip memorable.

My friend and I stayed at Kew House at Easter time this year and it turned out to be probably the best accommodation we stayed in for our whole 10 days in Scotland. The rooms were spacious and clean and very nicely decorated. The ensuite bathroom was practically brand new and it was the only room in the whole of Scotland that was classed as a B & B that actually gave you a fridge in your room and access to the internet and email in the guest lounge. It was also very close to the Edinburgh sites such as Princes street and the Castle, in fact, we walked there which probably took about 30 or so minutes but there was also plenty of buses running right past the door if required. After six hours of walking the first day, we did decide to take the bus back. For a capital city, we found the room rates to be very reasonable also and the breakfast was fabulous especially the Haggis, the best I had in Scotland. The guest lounge was a gorgeous room and felt very comfortable to relax in. The hosts were most helpful with everything, especially places of interest elsewhere in Scotland and sites in Edinburgh. Well done Alan and Ian. Look forward to our next visit.

We stayed here for two nights and so enjoyed it. Allen and Ian are the perfect hosts. Allen even went to the trouble of looking up a place to dine in Inverness an hour and a half train ride away!!. He prepared lunches for our train ride. we also saw him hanging the bedding on the line to dry in the fresh air! Find a hotel that would so warmly offer to do all of this.Thanks Allen! So clean and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend Kew House it's better than home since some one else does all of the cleaning!
