Stayed at Kew House for 1 night only. Very easy to find the property and is just down the road from the Zoo and very close to Haymarket Station.

The room was not large but very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable with lovely linen. The house itself was very warm and friendly making up for the icy weather.

Kew House has a small secure car park at the rear large enough for 4 cars at a squeeze.

Breakfast was great. Made to order so fresh and piping hot. Lots of real coffee and fruit juice to keep you going.

Yes it is an expensive B&B and not a hotel but it is well worth paying the extra to get somewhere as nice as this. We would definitely stay here again.

This Guest House is real hidden gem. On arrival we were shown the facilities and made to feel most welcome. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and the rooms were very comfortable and warm. The sherry and chocolates in our room on arrival was a lovely welcoming touch, Ian and Alan the owners really go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your stay, nothing was a problem for them, they even let us leave our car in their secure parking area for the whole day after we had checked out. The hotel is really handy for access into the city centre, it is about a 15 minute walk but there are busses every few mins into the city and the bus stop is right outside. I would most definitely stay again and have already recommended Kew House to my friends and family.

This is a small family run b&b with 6 rooms and 4 apartments. The staff are extremely friendly and took the time to show me the facilities of the room when I checked in. The location is about 15 minutes walk from central Edinburgh.

Check in was in the nice and comfortable sitting room they had downstairs for all guests to enjoy. There's also a free internet terminal to use and a few useful guidebooks on Scotland. I tried to have my web checkin boarding pass printed and they didn't have a printer attached - but were kind enough to spend 10 minutes trying to sort it out by printing it on their office printer (but did charge me 1 pound / page, of which there were 3 - ouch!).

The room was nicely decorated and there was a decanter of whisky in the room for guests as a welcome drink - tasted quite nice!

Breakfast was included in the room rate and was fantastic - they had a good selection, and you can order eggs and cooked breakfast to order. I tried the haggis and must say that it's definitely an acquired taste!

We, spouse and our three and five year olds, stayed at the Balbirnie Apartment B, which is across the street from the B&B. It was fabulous, private, brand new and a wonderful place for our family. The apartment had a dining area, kitchen, and lounge on the first floor. Upstairs was a full bathroom a small bedroom with one single bed, we brought a ReadyBed for our youngest and another bedroom with a King size bed and a huge closet. TV, DVD player downstairs and another TV in the larger bedroom. Breakfast supplies were left for us daily, bread, milk, juice, cereal, fruit and jam. We brought in some of our own food as well, and cooked dinner and had lunch supplies to pack for our daily excursions. So much easier when travelling with young children. We also could sleep in and have breakfast at our leisure and in our pjs. The apartment was cleaned daily as well. It is a 15/20 minute walk into the city center, and I loved the walk that Ian showed us to take a little off the main route. There is also a bus that stops directly in front of the Kew house, which we also jumped on to return at night. We ate dinner out at Chop, Chop - good place to take kids if they like noodles and dumplings. This was a quick 10 minute walk from the Kew house. In terms of activities to do with the kids - there is a fabulous playground in the Princess street garden, we strolled up the hill and spent several hours in the castle. We then walked down the Royal Mile and found ourselves in the lovely Storytelling Center with a cozy cafe and crafts and stories for the kids. We also took a bus tour, and hopped off at the Holyrood Palace and park - gorgeous. We had amazing weather and loved Edinburgh. Will go back and will stay at the Kew house apartments!

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel is small with nice personal service, almost more like a B&B. It's located on the main road from the airport into town; although it isn't "right" in downtown, it's maybe a 15 minute walk, and there are lots of buses that stop right outside if you don't want to walk. The advantage of the location is that it's easy to drive to without having to get tangled up in the downtown streets, and the location is quieter than downtown. Breakfast was very tasty and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit!
