“Great location for large group in Edinburgh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

The Edinburgh Maison is a five bedroom apartment ideally located in central Edinburgh a couple of block from Princes Street. The bedrooms, living and dining rooms were all large and great for group activities. The kitchen is a bit small, but certainly adequate (though a bit more in the way of cooking utensils might be helpful). The location for walking to the main tourist areas in town is great, and the street is quiet at night. The only concern I might have with the apartment is that it's on four levels with only stairs. People with limited mobility might not find it easy to access the living room (second level) or kitchen and dining room (third level). Otherwise, it was great. I would definitely stay there again if traveling to Edinburgh with a large group.

“lovely house and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I stayed here with a group of 5 girlfriends, the house was perfect for us, 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms! The beds were very comfortable with nice bed linen. The location was also perfect , right in the centre so we could easily walk to the shops and restaurants.

Liked best: staying in such a lovely house
Liked least: the kitchen was on a different floor to the lounge, so had to go upstairs to get the wine out of the fridge

“Edinburgh Marathon Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Stayed at the Edinburgh Maison for a long weekend as a group of four friends up for the Marathon. The house is in a peaceful street two minutes from George Street and a few more to Princess Street, you cannot get more central.

We arrived by train, it was about 15 minutes to walk from Waverley Station, and when we entered the house we could not have been more pleased. We were met on arrival and given a guided tour of the address...you need it! Each bedroom is huge, with comfortable beds and en suites to each room, each had its own TV. Clean, crisp linen on the beds and fresh towels were supplied. There were also nice touches like soap and washing up liquid provided along with tea and coffee. The house is massive and will accommodate ten people easily.

The living room was a great place for the evenings, comfortable furniture as per the pictures on the site. We never used the dining room, but even that had it's own toilet!

The only downside I can think of was the early morning arrival of the bin lorry to service the shops backing onto the street behind the address. The lorry was noisy and woke all of us up, it arrived each day so I would recommend earplugs.

That said being in the centre of the city, I was surprised at how quiet it was at all other times. This is a great place to stay.

“Great house in central location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Had to find somewhere to stay for myself, wife, 3 grown up children and their partners for a wedding in George St. This could not have been handier. The house is beautifully presented with quality furnishings and bedding, but retains many original features. One of the kids said that it would be a great place to have a family Christmas with its vast sitting room and dining table for 10. All you need to bring is some food, but M&S are just around the corner so you can buy all you need from there.
Being able to park the car behind the house is an added bonus although after you arrive, you may not have to use the car again as you are so central.
WiFi access kept all the iPad users happy.
Expect some night time noise from the street, but Hill Street is not as busy as you would expect.

“Dream house and amazing location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013 for a stay in December 2012

The house and facilities were brilliant and it was so centrally located. The shops and castle were just round the corner and Old Town is about a 10 minute walk.
We all loved everything about it and actually stayed in more than we normally would as it was so lovely and cosy.
The kitchen was well equipped for cooking big meals etcand there was a bathroom in each room. It is a perfect place for groups of friends or families.
There was no fault at all with this place from any of the group and we want to go again.
Only practical thing would be it is not suitable for people with wheelchairs etc as sitting room is on the first floor and kitchen on 2nd.
