Stayed in the Clarendon hotel From Fri,13th Feb to Mon16th.

Hotel in a fab location just 1 min walk from Prince's Street and 5 min from The Royal mile.Bus No 19 took us from The Airport and dropped us off outside the hotel. £3.50 single- very friendly bus driver- shouted out all the stops en route.

Easy check-in-friendly staff-room very comfortable- small but had everything-we just used it to shower and sleep-so much to do in Edinburgh! no problem getting extra milk,t bags etc.

Would def recommend it- we didnt need a bus/taxi as it was so central. we will be back!!!

I've stayed in hotels all over the world and the room we had was probably the smallest ever, not even room to wheel a case around the bed, no phone in the room and no mirror to use with the hairdryer. More importantly the breakfast was disgusting. Cereal old, stale, soft and full of sugar, yogurt too sweet to eat and the waitress carrying clean glasses with her fingers (ungloved) inside the glasses. This had to be the worse value for money ever and I will never stay there again nor recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for 3 nights in jan 09. We booked using airmiles and had read many reviews. We wanted somewhere cheap, clean in a great location within the city. That's exactly what we got!. The airport bus stops directly outside the hotel as is the pick up to go back. No lugging of cases no taxis etc required.
The staff were very friendly when we arrived at 9am not expecting to able to check in but to leave our bags somewhere safe. To our surprise the receptionist gave us our key and off to our room we went.
Room 301. It was quite small but perfectly clean with a double bed, wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables, hairdryer, t.v and en suite shower room. We had no intention of spending much time in the room as we wanted to see as much of the city as we could in the short time we had. if you like spend a lot of time in your hotel and lounge about this is not for you. If you want to use somewhere as your base then this is it.
The location of this hotel made our break. We walked everywhere from here and in 30 seconds you were in princess street looking at the castle .
We did have a walk around the sheraton which is in a totally different league but would have been a waste of money just to shower and sleep in.

Stay here for 3 nights in Jan 2009 as part of 4 weeks in Europe. Although the room was small, it definitely wasn't the smallest one of my trip. Had everything I needed. Position was great, reception staff friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. Breakfast room was beautifully presented, but the staff were a little lacking in experience and energy. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
