“Excellent meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

We were up in Edinburgh for the 6 nations and drove past this restaurant on way to town. It looked very busy, so we decided to eat here.
The New Zealand Sauvignon blanc was very nice and the other drinks were served efficiently. We had prawn toast, chicken and sweetcorn soup and chicken wings to start, followed by half a crispy duck with cucumber, spring onions, hoi San sauce, and pancakes. Skin was really crispy, which the kids and I particularly like.

This was followed by Chicken chow mein, special fried rice, chicken satay, sizzling king prawn and ginger dishes and a kung po dish. These all tasted great, with plenty of flavour.

It worked out circa £35 a head including tip.

“what a lucky find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We came across this restaurant by chance on a visit to Edinburgh, it was so good we dined here twice in 2 days, including Valentines Day. We could not fault a thing, the food was not only delicious and tasty, the portions were generous and filling. The starters and desserts were wonderful, the service was excellent, the wine choice in particular was welcome. The staff had gone to a lot of trouble to decorate the restaurant on Valentines Day and despite being very busy, they maintained high standards.

“Lost its balls”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

I have been visiting this restaurant once or twice a year over the past 10 years or so. The highlight for me was always the toffee apple balls from the dessert menu. As you might imagine, I was bitterly disappointed to arrive at the restaurant and be told that they no longer do the balls at all!!!

What is more - the tables were laid with knives and forks and other customers were using these to eat their food!! We had to ask for chop sticks. It's all change since my last visit and not for the better.

I am afraid to say, without the balls. there is nothing special about this Chinese - that is the very dish that made it so special. I cannot believe it has gone!! Unless it gets some balls back on the menu, we are unlikely to be back.

The toffee apple was removed from the menu 3 years ago due to technical problem. As any restaurants, changing menu is an often and regular exercise , we always work hard to produce the best dishes that we can.

Laid forks and knifes on the table is nothing wrong with it as we always got plenty chopsticks availiable.

“Outskirts excellence”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, this Chinese restaurant offers a varied and excellent menu - even a vegertarian friend had no difficulty choosing from the menu. I have eaten there several times and never been disppointed with the quality of the food or with the service. Located by a roundabout, there is no parking but one can park across the road behind PC World.
