Spent one night here and I have to say we were very impressed. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly and even let us check in two hours early, the room or should I say apartment was very spacious and clean. The location is also great and your only around 10 minutes from the city centre, breakfast was also included and it's a case of help yourself to quality food. We will definatley be back and wouldn't consider another hotel in the capital after this stay, thanks again for a wonderful stay and friendly welcome we will not forget this.

Thank you RI for a great weekend, I have to say I just loved the breakfast - best bacon ever - crispy mmmmmm and beans - some hotels don't do beans!

The rooms are modern and clean.

The staff friendly and helpful - I even got an email after - hoping we had enjoyed our stay an shame about the terrible winds!

The hotel is close to the University and Grey Friars - which is a must for animal lovers!

A great place to stay if you want to walk to Arthurs seat!

There are some really good pubs close by - eg Doctors.

You are in the centre, but the castle and surrounding area are about 10 mins walk away - but its Edinburgh and an interesting walk.

We took a taxi to Leith and a ate at a restaurant called Fatmas where we were treat like VIPs

It was a great weekend -I cant wait to go back.

It really was a trip back memory lane to stay here last Saturday night. The clock tower of the old Royal Infirmary remains in situ; it's wonderful to see life being breathed back into this area. Restaurants and theatres are just a short walk away. Once the car is parked walking is the best way to get about. (20% off parking cost on presentation of ticket at desk) Front of house staff are very friendly and efficient, the breakfast area is small but well managed. The bathroom is small, bedroom also quite small. However living area and kitchenette well proportioned.

Stayed here for 2 nights and no complaints at all.....quite the opposite. I can't praise highly enough.
Room was spotless with everything you could possibly need.
The only difference with our trip this time was that we attended the " managers social" which is held (I think, every other Tuesday) but not 100% sure on that. If you purchase a drink at the bar you can then help yourself to the food provided. Different themes every time I think. We had hot dogs, salad and wraps. It was lovely. Very fresh and plentiful. It gives the staff a chance to chat to the customers in an informal way and of course lets the guests meet the general manager...a really nice touch as in most hotels, one never even sees the manager let alone have a conversation with them.
So as with my last review of this hotel I commend the staff team very highly. They are all very professional, friendly and helpful and a wonderful asset to the marriot group.

As a regular at Marriott hotels I thought I would give this a try and was sadly disappointed, maybe some of this is my fault. The hotel is very difficult to find. Car parking is charged £12 a day. The bar area is really not a bar area so there is no bar nor lounge areas at all. Breakfast was terrible. The room was somehow not welcoming. Despite having a kitchenette i was granted two tea bags only and the heating was turned off in the bedroom. Wifi reception in the room was weak to poor. The price of 130£ suggested something rather better frankly. I will not be staying again.

I travel a LOT. Just returned from a business trip to Edinburgh. Hotel room was exceptional. Staff was excellent. Complimentary breakfast was superior to anything you get in the States. Tuesday manager's happy hour was also a nice touch. Manager is a real people person. Would definitely use this hotel in the future. Gym is very small and quite limited, so don't plan to do ay workouts; however, the hotel is on an excellent biking/jogging path that ends close to the castle.

Great hotel, modern design, in a very central yet quiet area on the Quater Mile. Easy walking distance to the city centre. A short drive to the coast.

Suites are very comfortable and provide all the luxury we needed.

The staff members were all friendly and made us welcome.

We stayed with our 2 dogs over Christmas. The hotel & staff are very pet friendly, highly recommended as a destination for animal travellers and their owners! The Meadows is literally next door, a great place to walk.

The suites are perfect for preparing dog's meals and washing up!

We've re-booked to go again later in the year.
