I had one night. This place is clean, right next to the meadows and if you want to walk away from tourist traffic, this is it. One extra, I love to run outside and am no fan of treadmills. To step out and run the meadows is a great bonus.

It is our 3rd night here and it's been a warm day in Edinburgh. The temps on the 5th floor are also warm. They do give you a rotating fan in your room, but it doesn't help much. Ugh!
The staff are very courteous and kind. The bartender was great. Can't fault them at all.
Rooms are okay because relatively new, but can see wear already. They may have chosen more durable materials for kitchenette. Also, toilet/shower is quite small. Would prefer smaller kitchen area and bigger bath area.
Location is good.

In spite of the trouble we had getting there (the taxi driver insisted that the Residence Inn had only apartments and did not book short stays), the hotel was great. The staff was good, the location was great. No AC, but as one reviewer said "really, how hot does it get in Edinburgh?"
I imagine it would be loud when construction is going on, but we weren't bothered at all. The location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see, good restaurants, and the included breakfast was good.

My partner and I stayed here for 8 nights on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It is a nice, new modern hotel. The rooms are a nice size and very modern. It could be a bit stuffy in the room but the windows do open. The breakfast provided in the morning was basic but very good. The hotel is located within an easy walk to the Royal Mile and all the tourist attractions. We would certainly stay there again.

We stayed here for one night in summer. It got quite warm without air-conditioning (didn't seem to be any in the room. The staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was very basic.

Great position though, with only a short walk into town.

Rooms are big, well equipped and modern. Lots of natural light plus blackout curtains.

There didn't appear to be air-con, but the windows open to prevent stuffiness - and really how hot does it get in Edinburgh?!

Decent powerful hairdryer, and iron / ironing board / fridge / kettle - well equipped.

Bed was a bit 'trampoline-like' - bouncy but not heavy, so if one person turns over, the other gets boinged around! Not the worst ever, but not among the most comfortable.

Bathroom was nice enough (shower, no bath) - toilet was remarkably high off the floor, ("like sitting on a bar stool"!) so not ideal for shorter people or those bringing children.

Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast buffet was a nice inclusion - with fruit, a hot selection, pastries, toast, cereal, juice etc. Not a huge selection but decent quality.

We would definitely go back - it was better value than many others in Edinburgh, and is a short walk from the attractions of the Old Town.

The property is just slightly off the main tourist routes, and across from Edinburgh University. For location, it is perfect. Within easy walking distance to all the main old town, castle and many attractions and resturants. The hotel itself is very modern but also in a construction area that was currently silent, but appears that it could be active again at any time. Renovating older buildings. The rooms were not large, but comfortable and clean. Another Marriott property that you can count on the standard quality. Free breakfast included that was satisfactory to get you going. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: I always ask for upper floors away from elevators.
