“Nice bar in Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

Great bar/pub, decent set of ales and well kept too if my experience was anything to go by. Nice feel to it and worthy addition on any real ale crawl.

“One of the best bars in edinburgh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

Without doubt one of the best pubs in the city, relaxed friendly atmosphere with excellent choice of cask and foreign beers, furstenberg on tap, need I say anymore.

“Surprised by the fantastic food and service here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Looks completely unassuming, we went in the daytime looking for lunch before a show and were pleasantly surprised. On appearance this pub is nothing special but the staff were lovely and the food delicious. Although a little on the expensive side it was worth it for the amazing chunky chips and homemade (I'm guessing) coleslaw which came with our grills and burgers.

“What a pub!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

This is my local. Many regulars and irregulars at Cloisters know me, and I know them. It's the sort of pub where people can chat to each other. It's a friendly pub - it can be loud, but just through lots of people enjoying a good time. The ales are excellent. 4 house and 5 guest, as well as a number of lagers, and the odd cider or two. I've been enjoying the good selection of whiskies, and the expansion of the rum selection too.
