“Wonderful B&B style Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

The title probably sounds like a contradiction and it kind of is because this place is called a hotel but looks more like a bed and breakfast. As I do before booking anything I like to read customers reviews and I have to say that the descriptions and experiences where quite accurate, I am referring to all the positive ones of course.

This hotel is owned by an Asian family whom are very nice and accommodating. I only make mention of this because it is in Scotland where you do not see many foreigners owning businesses. They even offered to make us sandwiches and snacks to take on our train ride back to London; that was the nicest gesture I have ever experienced in all my years of traveling.

The rooms where spacious and that is a rarity in most places in UK or Europe, of course unless you have the money to pay for larger rooms. The beds where so comfortable and the showers where nice and clean. It is not located right in the center of town and the nearest train station was closed for renovations at the time but it was fine because taxi's are always available and everything is so close that it is inexpensive to take one.

I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again in the future; I felt right at home.

Having visited Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival we stayed at the Grosvenor Gardens Hotel, and we can't possibly recommend this establishment enough. It was actually booked for us through "visitscotland.com" and they couldn't have picked a better choice.
Ideally located within a 15min walk to the centre of the city or just a casual 5min walk to Haymarket train station. All major bus routes and taxi ranks are literally only around the corner.
The room was absolutely spotless and comfortable. Breakfast served up to 09:30AM each morning in a very comfortable dining room. Fantastic choice of food available from full continental to british or take both if you want. Basically it was a case of help yourself to as much as you want.
The staff are an absolute credit to this establishment and some of the more up market offerings could well do with taking a lesson here on customer service.
Very very keenly priced considering the weekend it was and certainly no feeling of exploitation here. You would find it very hard to match this little hotel for standard of rooms, quality of service, quality of food and homely feeling and pricing.
On our next trip back we wouldn't even consider looking for different accommodation. The Grosvenor Gardens Hotel offers everything we require and more. Definitely deserves a big A+++++++++++.

Kieron & Jennifer

Room Tip: If our room was anything to go by I reckon one is as good as the next.

After a second stay at this hotel I have nothing but praise for the staff and the hotel. The bedrooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean and the breakfasts are always cooked fresh. Nothing is of any trouble to the staff. Tea coffee and biscuits are provided in the rooms, This hotel is about two minutes walk to Haymarket railway station and a similar distance to the airport bus stop.

We stayed in comfortable twin room for two days. We could choose the room from two alternatives, and ended up on noisy street side (a temporary detour because of tram-rail works). That was not a problem, and the bus routes are (hopefully) soon back to the main road.
The staff (an Asian family?) was extremely friendly though English was sometimes difficult to understand. The breakfast was good (prepared according to your order).
There is about two miles walk to Royal Mile etc., but we chose the hotel because it is next to Haymarket station (on the way to Glasgow).

My family and I had four fabulous days’ stay at this friendly and well equipped privately own hotel. Rooms and public area are immaculately clean with nicely added personal touch, beds comfortable, linen and soft towels are obviously professionally laundered, in-room tea & coffee & bathroom amenities are welcoming. Grosvenor Gardens Hotel is definitely a jewel among the many small hotels and guest houses in Edinburgh. We look forward to our next stay.

When we arrived we got an upgrade to the deluxe suite and the room was beautiful! Lovely shower and bath, excellent cleanliness and breakfasts were great. Staff service was far above a standard hostel and nothing was too much trouble. We left some items in the room and the staff called immediately and posted them back to us at no cost right away. Next time we are in Edinburgh we will definitely stay here!

it's more a residential area than tourist center, same price could be more choice at same area and there are very strict rule to use the room, say, not eat & drink at room or you have to pay for dry clean if you made dirt on carpet. maybe hence, room is quite clean
