My son and I stayed here for a week in March 2005, and this was our first Bed and Breakfast experience. Robin and Nici were excellent hosts and very helpful. They always went the extra mile to ensure that our stay was the best it could possibly be. In our room, they supplied drinks, cookies, bus schedules, tourist information, guide books, postcards, and more. Each morning, there were excellent breakfast choices. Robin and Nici made suggestions and arrangements for our daily outings. They called taxis and looked into possible bus tours, both around the city and the country. Even before we arrived in Scotland, they were giving us great ideas for day trips.

As stated on their website, Elmview is in the heart of Edinburgh, and is very close to local buses that take you downtown very quickly. It is in a very safe neighbourhood, and near laundry facilities and internet cafés. We recommend Elmview to everyone who wants to experience a wonderful stay in Edinburgh.

We had a fantastic time in Edinburgh and Robin and Nici were the most wonderful hosts we could have hoped for. Our room was large and very comfy, with lots of great extras, including a trouser press, refrigerator, TV/VCR, fixings for tea and chocolate, a towel warmer and the nicest towels and robes we've had in any place we've ever stayed. Breakfast was delicious every day, and though we didn't need it, Robin and Nici would make any accomodation that their guests needed. You'll love it here.

Upon our departure from Elmview on May 2, 2005, Robin asked what they could do in the future to make Elmview better. After 30 seconds of silence, we decided the answer was.....absolutely nothing. I'll leave the details to others, but "simply perfect" would describe our stay and our hosts at Elmview.
