Stayed here for a long weekend in May 2005 and it is by far the best B&B we've stayed in.

Located in a quiet street about a 5 minute bus ride from the town centre. 3 minute walk to the bus stop and busses every 5-10 minutes into the city.

Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts, rooms very clean with excellent facilities such as tv with video recorder and selection of videos to watch for those wet evenings.

Excellent choice of food for breakfast and all for a reasonable price. You couldn't find a better B&B in Edinburgh by far.

We'll most certainly be going back.

Have just returned from a fantastic long weekend at the Elmview in Edinburgh.

The B+B is kept with tender, loving care and the quality of the rooms and high standards throughout reflect this. Our room was fantastic with a massive bed and an immaculate bathroom. Breakfast was stunning with a range of options to suit anyone’s palette.

Situated a 15 minute walk (5 mins on the bus) from Prince's Street in the centre of town, I would heartily recommend the Elmview to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

You will not be disappointed! From the moment you arrive, until the sad moment you leave, you will always be treated as special guests by hosts, Robin and Nici, in the warmest home in Edinburgh. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotless. Each is charmingly furnished and dashed with personal touches, such as fresh flowers and complimentary sherry. Our room had a huge paned window facing the back garden. The first night snow fell (February) so pulling back the curtain in the morning revealed a gorgeous picture (we were sure somehow our hosts had arrange the night’s snowfall). Nici’s breakfasts are superb in flavor and presentation, something you’ll start dreaming about the night before. Luckily our stay was over several days, so trying everything on the menu was an option. Please don’t leave without trying the heavenly porridge! Chatting with Robin over breakfast about sights, food and culture was always fun and informative.

We can honestly say that our Elmview stay made our holiday unforgettable. Thank you Robin and Nici, you are amazing!!!

After a day of travelling, Elmview was a quick bus ride from Waverley station. As a first time visitor to Scotland and travelling alone, the location is extremely convenient. Elmview is wonderfully close (easy 15 minute walk) to the city centre and all the Edinburgh attractions, but is in a peaceful, beautiful area overlooking a large park.

The accommodation is spacious and inviting with magnificent bedrooms and large bathrooms: especially luxurious after a long day of sightseeing! Robin and Nici showed me wonderful hospitality, and very kindly helped me resolve travel problems I had experienced. Both hosts are warm, welcoming and I greatly enjoyed discussing Scottish sights and history.

I highly recommend Elmview as fantastic accommodation from which to discover Edinburgh. Many, many thanks to Robin and Nici – I will be back for the Festival if I book early enough!

Dave (Zimbabwe, Africa), March 2005.
