My partner and I just spent 2 nights at Elmview (30th/31st Oct) and were looked after by Robin and Nici from the moment we arrived. Every care was taken to ensure that we had a fantastic time. We were provided with all the information we needed on how to get around Edinburgh and what to see and do. There were lots of extra things provided to us that although didn't cost very much made all the difference, such as bath foam, facial cleansers and toners, emery boards etc in the bathroom(especially great for all ladies visiting), a bottle of sherry on the table in our bedroom along side sweets and snacks, all the choice of hot drinks you could wish for and also milk in the mini-bar/fridge for tea/coffee - great!!! The room was very spacious, high ceilings and extremley clean (believe me we are fussy about places being clean!). A superb breakfast served to us each day and great care taken to make sure we had eaten plenty for our long day trips ahead. There was every variety of food you could wish for at breakfast too! We stayed in room no. 3 and this has a bath and separate shower in. The bath was wonderful, however if we had to make one gripe, it would be to say that there is absolutely no power in the shower at all, the water just dribbles out really, so stick to the bath if you can! All in all though, well worth the £90 spent per double room per night. You certainly wouldn't get such great service/facilities/food and a room to the standard of ours at a hotel for this cost. Robin and Nici are wonderful, helpful hosts. The Elmview is a very special, warm place. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.

We booked this place for 5 days in August based on the reviews we read on Trip Advisor. We have never bothered to provide a review before, but the Elmview deserves the effort. Edinburgh is a fabulous city to visit and this B&B made it truly memorable. Room. food, location, conversation ... it all worked. The owners put a lot of effort into providing a high quality establishment and they succeed wonderfully. We certainly want to go back to Edinburgh and the Elmview is the first place we would go. It's definately worth the price.

The fragrance of fresh flowers welcomes you to this imaculate B and B overlooking a park only minutes from the Edinburgh Castle. The 3 rooms are large and exceptionally quiet. Each overlooks either a park or courtyard garden. The owners put together a fantastic breakfast each day. They also know a lot about the restaurants, politics, and events around Edinburgh. There is an internet cafe and a great bakery about a block away. For a taste of a great Edinburgh neighborhood just walk up the hill from the church at the corner and explore the great restaurants, shops and people watching. Reserve early!
