Elmview was the best accommodation in our 16 days in Scotland. Nici & Robin are exceptional hosts, the rooms are spotless, breakfast excellent and the location convenient. I highly recommend this B&B. Robin goes out of the way to provide info on Edinburgh; he even talked two non golfers into playing the free pitch and putt golf course across the street, great fun. Nici was very accurate in her restaurant recommendations. As a final highlight we returned to Edinburgh late evening two weeks later without a room reservation. They called around and found us accommodations.

Everything about this B&B was excellent. Robin was there to meet us upon our arrival. Our room was large and clean, and had snacks and drinks waiting. The breakfasts were tasty and elegant, and our host was always on hand for assistance or conversation. We were only a short walk to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle and when we were too tired to walk, the bus stop was just at the end of the street. A definite must stay in Edinburgh!

We were two couples travelling to Edinburgh for the first time. On arrival we were greeted and tea and sweets were ready. An informative overview of the city was given. The Elmview was conveniently located reasonably close to the Castle and the Golden Mile. We even played a wee bit of golf on the ancient but free little course directly across the street. The breakfasts were truly outstanding and that is where the most adventurous of us had our first taste of haggis.
We found the Elmview to be well located, spotlessly clean, great food, comfortable beds, attractive decor,wonderful hosts, and therefore good value.
We would love to return to the Elmview.

The Elmview has to be the best bed-and-breakfast bargain in Edinburgh. When we arrived, we were helped, along with our luggage, into our attractive room. Then we were invited to talk about both the town and the Elmview while feasting over cucumber sandwiches, tea, and cake. The food remained a great treat, consisting of standard fare, excellent coffee, and local joys like finnian haddock, Scottish smoked salmon, and haggis--and there was plenty of it. The accommodations were superb: the bathroom was splendid, with plenty of hot water, lotions, shampoos, good water power, and a very useful towel warmer. The heat in the sleeping space came on quickly and set itself to a comfortable temperature, while we relaxed to some lovely sherry and biscuits.
All in all, a great place to come back to after a day of touring.
