It was a nice place, but not much of historical interest inside (although many hangings took place outside) except a wedding of one of Queen Mary's attendants. It is wheelchair accessible, and is free. It has an interesting interior.
A real jewel in the centre of of a busseling city. A wonderful place to take a time out. When I visited it was undergoing major refurbishment but im sure this work has been completed by now.
It is no different from any other old cathedral - beautiful, chilly, and dark. It does have beautiful stained windows, though, and some interesting paintings along the back left wall.
Typical. 12 steps of the cross was well presented. Outside was significant. In the center of everything. Free concerts offered. Open daily for prayer. Quiet necessary
st mary's on parmerston place just west of the city centre has three spires, its easily seen from around edinburgh such as from princess street etc. the wrong website has been posted here at the top, thats for the other st mary's, a smaller catholic church with no spires/towers.
