“A beautiful and historic Edinburgh Village on the Firth of Forth.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Around 142, Roman forces arrived at Cramond by order of Emperor Antoninus Pius, who had given them the task of establishing a fort at the mouth of the River Almond. There's not much to see of the Roman elements but the scenery is exquisite with wide horizons across to Fife, the Forth Bridges, Cramond Island and foreshore where you can walk, run cycle, skate or chat with friends.

“Lovely place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Went here for an afternoon, Lothian Bus No 41 takes you outside the city.
It is a lovely place for collecting stones and pick up shells observed by some curious seagulls.
But you do not get here quiet and peace because most of the maschines for Edinburgh Airport are coming over the North Sea and you must love this noise ...
Anyway ... scenery is nice, there is also an Inn which I did not checked out (had to catch the next bus) and beside the kirk you can see remains of a Roman Fort.
It worths a trip, but if you are allergic to the mentioned noise better stay away!

“Village life”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

A popular walk with city residents, exclusive Cramond has a good mix of visitors who come to visit it - it's such a beautiful spot. Just a pity about the low flying aircraft on their way to Edinburgh airport.

“A nice walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Old houses by the river with a nice walk upto Crammond Bridge. An easy walk apart from some steps that are not friendly for all users
