The Afton Town House Hotel is a grand old house on a quiet leafy crescent, yet only 5 minutes walk to Haymarket Station with trains every 6 minutes to Waverly. Or it's an easy walk - 10 minutes to Prince's Street, and 25 to the Castle. The hotel is friendly, and family-owned. There is a large first-floor (UK definition) dining room where the included full breakfast is served, looking out on the crescent gardens. (No other meals, but there are many restaurants and pubs about 3 quiet, upscale blocks away.) My room (booked as a single) was huge and had a twin and a double bed (excellent quality). Full bath, TV, phone, coffee & tea tray. Would stay there again anytime.
