“A good local cafe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Had lunch here today with a friend who lives just around the corner. Good festive turkey & cranberry toasty plus a warming (if rather salty) leek & potato soup - very welcome on a freezing cold day. Decent coffee. Service: swift & pleasant. Par for the course prices. Nice busy atmosphere. Avoid sitting near the door on cold days - too many people walk out leaving it open!

“Coffee was belting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

My good god, that was just about the best coffee I have tasted since Italy! Lovely little gem of a place that is worth making the trip out of the center for. Great food and drinks. If only they did a Haggis butty!

“Very good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

I eat (out), here about 3 times a week, it does get busy, but the reason is, it's the best in the area. All sandwiches are freshly made, with fresh ingredients, (hem, hem, s****y), Home made soups and stews, and freshly baked scones and cakes. Yes the staff are an eclectic bunch, but they all work hard, and the boss has a professional pride in his Cafe.

“Lovely place, excellent club sandwiches! and very friendly service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Clean fresh decor, busy but seating is not a long wait.

The sandwiches are lovely, and the Oreo brownies are yummy. only slight negative was the coffee that was average, mines had a slightly "burnt" taste but i like my coffee so I am probably being harsh, to be honest this place is more about the food.

Pricing was about fair but they accept student discount which is a big plus.

Without a doubt i will be returning and urge others to try it.

“lots more fantastic visits!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

I have put a review on here previously but felt I had to add another!! I eat out at lunchtime regularly in Morningside/bruntsfield and Rocket really is my favourite. The owner is exceptionally friendly and hard working - but always very welcoming.

It is a very busy little cafe with a takeaway service - the staff all work very hard. I find some of the comments regarding the way staff look to be totally ridiculous and should not be on here at all.

The food is all freshly made - the club sandwich really is to die for. The home made soups are always really nice too. The traybakes are yummy - too much choice.

There is a huge choice of places to go in this area but at least at Rocket you know you are getting good quality fresh food that some thought has been put into the flavours etc.

Always take time to read the boards on the walls etc for the specials and suggestions.

Thank you Rocket!!
