My wife and I stayed at the Edinburgh Marriott for a two night weekend break - a package involving breakfast and dinner on the first (Fri) night.

It's a very comfortable hotel. The room was first rate with better than average space (a sofa and desk/chair) and a very comfortable King bed. Immaculately clean and no signs of tiredness in the decor. Dinner on the first night was excellent, food of high quality and a good choice of wines; a pity that the restaurant was so quiet, but the staff were very attentive and the service faultless. Great staff overall; affable without being subservient.

My only complaint about the place was the ridiculously high charge for wireless internet. They wanted £15 per hour to connect, which I think is outagageous. We had recently been touring Tennessee and in every hotel we stayed in (five in total, including a Marriott) the wireless internet was free of charge. Rip off Britain again?

This hotel is located outside the city. The reception is bright and the room is modern and clean. We had an enormous double bed with crisp linen, though the room was not very large.
The food was adequate but we did not dine in the restaurant as there was a good selection in the bar menu. Taxis are expensive but there is an excellent bus service that will take you quickly to the centre. This area of scotland has lots of castles and interesting sights. Well worth a visit.

Stayed here on park and fly deal. Room excellent - comfortable bed , seating area, clean.
Parked at hotel for duration of holiday in Spain. This hotel is excellent for that. Car can be left for up to 15 nights. Transfers are by taxi so no waiting around for shuttle buses.
Highly recommended.

Having stayed in the Airport Hilton many times I tried this near neighbour, courtesy of a better deal from work and recently being impressed by another Marriott.. I was not disappointed. The room was large and well furnished, the bed big and comfortable, both superior to the airport Hilton. The bathroom bright but a little smaller. The restaurant was excellent, both in decor, service and quality of food and the bar less like a hallway. Breakfast was also good, varied and well prepared traditional food. Overall I was impressed by the building and service. I think it's probably too far out to be a tourist hotel, but the reviews here seem to argue with me on that. I will definately be back next visit.

Stayed a week at this hotel. It is about 7 miles outside the city proper. However, we got a weekly bus pass and were able to catch the bus right outside the hotel. Staff are very service-minded and will do anything they can to make your stay a good one. Our room was nice and very clean. No coffee pots as we in the USA know them! They have what is called a "kettle." So, if you like brewed coffee, be prepared to purchase a Cafe Tierre (sp?)!! There are 2 restaurants onsite. We used room service a few times. Food was good. There is also a spa/pool/workout area that is very user friendly. A business center is open 24 hrs a day.
