“Fantastic view from the top”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Arthur's Seat is well worth climbing; the views from the summit are superb. You don't need to be super fit, but beware that some of the paths are tricky in places. A few points to note: (1) it's windy at the top so wear suitable clothing, (2) wear suitable shoes, and (3) it's highly inadvisable to climb in hours of darkness unless you are very well prepared - be particularly careful if ascending at dusk as it will probably be dark during your descent.

“Windy but worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

It was a bit of a trek for me as someone who isn't the fittest. But it was amazing, the views are outstanding. I would highly recommend this as every visitors first outing... Climb to the top and decide from there what you want to see next... Tie everything down, it is very windy...

“Well worth the exercise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Be prepared as some of it can be quite strenuous but once you get up to the top, the views are fabulous and it's worth the exercise.

“Rather windy walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

This is the first time I've made it here as the weather was alright. The signs to Arthur's seat were not very apparent (may have been the route we walked) buy the views when we got to the top were amazing. I think it would have been nice to have a bit more signs or timings to the top as there were a few people who wanted to go up at 7pm and weren't sure if they could get to the top before it got dark and the descent would have been a bit dangerous.

If you like views, photography or walking I would highly recommend. If you don't you can get quite good views from the Castle but not as good as here.

“Amazing views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

I was expecting a really hard climb but if you take your time, stop and enjoy the views on the way up it's pretty easy! Really enojoyed being out and about getting the fresh air, great way to work up an appitite for sunday lunch! A must see for the views. Just be careful on the way down, it can be quite gravelly and you may end up on your bum like I did!!

There's no where to purchase water on the site so be sure to take some water with you.
