“On the skyline”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

A prominent feature on Edinburgh's skyline along with the castle, cathedral and Fettes. A person of average fitness can be at the top in 30-45 mins. It gives fantastic views of all of Lothian and beyond.

“Nice hike up for breathtaking views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

It can be a bit daunting if covered in snow, but it's a nice escape into nature right in Edinburgh city. You get impressive views of Holyrood Palace, the Old Town, and Edinburgh Castle.

“Loved it - a must on a sunny day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We were lucky enough to get bright blue sunshine, and it was probably because of this lovely weather that it was the highlight of my 3-day trip to Edinburgh!

The walk wasn't as difficult as it had looked from the bottom (!) and the views along the way up were breathtaking with lots of photo opportunities.

We took an unconventional route down again, which involved a lot of scrabbling on rocks down a fairly sheer cliff face - great fun!!

It was a bit of a shame that there was broken glass in places - so if you have a dog please be wary of this!

People visiting Edinburgh should definitely climb Arthur's seat on a nice day, take a picnic! :-)

“Amazing views of the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Would recommend to do this on a clear day to make the most of landscape. The views are spectacular and its not too much of a difficult climb even it looks slightly menacing at first!

“360 degrees of awesomeness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

This is how to see the city.

Where else in the world has a climbable extinct volcano in the heart of the city.

Views at the top are well worth the climb.

Chill at the park at the bottom or feed the ducks and swans at one of the 3 lochs.

Love it.
