I stayed there on recommendations from other TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed.
This is a small hotel, located in an old Victorian-style house. When we arrived, as we had let them know about the birthday, we had a well-appreciated complimentary bottle of wine.
We stayed in an Executive Room with a Queen Size bed and a jacuzzi.
The bed was the only bad point I thought. It was in fact what could only be described as two Single children beds' attached together at the base. I say child bed, because it was indeed VERY short, which made it uncomfortable to sleep in. Also, you couldn't sleep in the middle.
The jacuzzi on the other hand was lovely and well appreciated after the long walks around the city and Arthur's Seat. The water was a bit green, but it was explained it's an ongoing problem with the water company and the water is safe.
TV's got the terrestrial channels. There was an iron, phone, tea and coffee making facilities, etc. All we needed.
Staff were nice and helpful.
Breakfast was fine, but not excellent. I've definitely had better. But there was plenty to eat.
We were very close to the city centre (10 mins on the buses which were very frequent, up to every 5 mins), but yet far enough for our hotel to be pleasant and quiet/relaxing.
The value for money was also very good, considering that for that price you only get an "plasticky" Ibis in London...
All in all, I would recommend it and would stay again.
