This was a wonderful place for our time in Edinburgh. Wonderful and helpful staff greeted us and we liked our canopy bedroom and modern bath with soaker tub overlooking the gardens. Computer available for our use too. This inn is located on the road where a very efficient bus line can take you all over Edinburgh and we enjoyed not having to drive anyway in the city. Great breakfast each morning. Well run and pleasant inn.

I stay here almost every time I visit Auld Reekie on business (at least 4 times a year) The hotel is clean, quiet without being boring and very relaxing. The owner is a delight and makes you feel part of Edinburgh as soon as you get there. The breakfasts are excellent. The house decor is traditional and very attractive. Its wonderful value. the only negative is that some of the bathrooms need a little attention - some are lovely and it depends which room you get, but they are all above average and that may be a picky comment! I have stayed here more than 15 times now! :) over 4-5 years!

After staying at a terrible B&B in london the Kildonan was a welcome change. It is beautiful and very welcoming. We stayed for 3 nights and weren't dissapointed. The rooms are spectacular and include tea, sherry, and even a safe. The staff was so nice and extremely helpful.

The hotel itself is beautiful, homely and cosy and also beautifully decorated. But what really stood out was the warmth and helpfulness of the staff. On arrival, the receptionist provided us with maps and an honest opinion about which were the more worthwhile tours and tour bus companies. It was wonderful to sit in the guests' lounge before bed, in front of the fire with a drink from the honesty bar - a treat in itself. A jacuzzi bath, breakfast, and a complimentary newspaper all made this a sumptuous stay! When our travel plans changed and we decided to stay in the city an extra night, the hotel regretted that they were booked out, but were glad to arrange alternative accommodation for us.
