“Perfect for that nice and healthy lunch...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2011

La Cerise in Leith, Edinburgh, is without a doubt one of the nicest and best places to have lunch. They offer a wealth of small, home made dishes (soups, quiches, panini, sandwiches...) as well as very nice home made pies, cookies and sweets.
Staff is very friendly, and oh, I forgot to mention they do very nice coffees too.
Whenever you go there, send my regards to The Swedisch Tattooed Girl :-)

“An Institution!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2011

This little gem does the best home made cakes/treats, coffee, ice-cream and lunches in Leith. All done with the amazing smiles and warmth of Martin and Claire the owners! The lovely décor and welcoming ambience gives you a feeling of wellbeing as soon as you set foot in this fantastic café, sit and watch the world go by, chat to a regular or browse a National Geographic with a Coffee and Strawberry tart! This place does more than fill your tummy and warm your cockles, it nurtures your soul!

“Good food, friendly service, superb ice cream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2011 via mobile

Have been a patron here for some time and cannot fault it. Drop in for a coffee and a delicious cake (love the White chocolate strawberry eclair). They do great birthday cakes to order and the most delicious ice cream (won awards I think).

“Little Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

My Husband and I accidentally found this when we were returning from visiting the Royal Ship Britanica. This is truly a Gem of a place to stop for some home made goodies, We both had a sandwich, I had a veg panini my husband had a wrap, they were excellent. The owner also makes all of the ice cream that is sold there, he buys his fruits from the local fruit supplier in his neighbourhood. If you are in the area of the Royal Ship you should make this a stop, even if just for coffee, that was excellent also and very good prices at that.
