Stayed here for two nights while on a Globus tour and we absolutely loved the location. We were within walking distance of everything.

We had a triple and got this wonderful two bedroom suite. The most room we had on our whole trip.

The rooms were clean, spacious but a bit stuffy and noisy when we had the windows open late at night.

The only food we ate at the hotel was the breakfast buffet. Quite good except they had no porridge - thought that odd for a Scottish hotel catering to tourists.

For folks who like to shop, the hotel was attached to a good sized mall.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

From the outside you would think that you were entering an office block, but you really must enter!!!! dont be put off!!!! The staff are wonderful - extremely helpful and freindly. I booked direct with the hotel and spoke to Frances, she was amazing!! I felt like I had known her for years. She was a true professional catering for myseld and my wifes needs. She sold us a promise and it was definately delivered!!! You have to stay here - ok, theres no pool - but with so much to do in Edinburgh, you wont even think about swimming!! Please read the previous reviews and take them with a pinch of salt - I have stayed in less friendlier and professional 5 star hotels!!!!! I will be back and definately booking through my (friend) Frances!!

Stayed with a group for a rugby weekend. Its a big modern hotel sort of soleless none the less we had a pleasant stay.

There are two or three Thistle Hotels in Edinburgh. This one is located on Leith Street. We booked a "Family Room" which consisted of a double bed, a sitting area, and a separate area which held bunk beds. It was very spacious and quiet, being located in the rear of the hotel. While the furnishings weren't charming or luxurious, they were attractive, clean and fresh. We had plenty of room to spread out, even with two adults and two teens. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night. Our kids had room service meals one night and were happy with the pizza they received. The breakfast was complete and hot and delicious. We felt well-satisfied with our experience here. If you are looking for a charming, quaint hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean place to sleep and not spend a fortune, you've found it!
