Stopped here a few times on business as the location is right by where I need to go for work (Prince's St). The location is both an advantage and disadvantage insofar as it's central and convenient, but also on a very busy street and bus route. Buses (and drunks!) literally go up and down all night and it can be impossible to sleep on the lower floors. The lower floors are also smoking rooms - I was put in one and couldn't stand it so was moved to a high floor exec room which was much better. You still get the fab view of the castle but not the smoke or as much of the noise. The hotel is being renovated I believe. The standard rooms are nothing special a bit shabby to be honest but the exec rooms are really nice and contemporary. and worth paying the extra for. The breakfast /dining area is like a 1980s nightclub but it's perfectly functional. Breakfast is very cheap at only £8.95 compared to £20+ for some hotels. Great selection. Decent 3* hotel, accommodating and pleasant staff. Not bad. Best for tourists rather than business visitors I'd say as the street noise might prevent a good night's sleep.
