This hotel is in a great location, across from the Lovely Princes Gardens and Museum/Gallery. There is also a distant view of the Castle. The room i stayed in was small, but very clean. The staff from reception to cleaning were very pleasant. The food wasn't bad and was reasonably priced for Lunch/Tea. Note that the reception is not in the Hotel Entrance but on 1st Floor, but lifts were working and fast. The scaffolding was still up on front of hotel when i stayed there and is a little unsightly. Shopping is very good on this street, lots of shops and marks and spencers next door. Lots of Buses across the road to bring you to different locations in Edinburgh and Bus Tours across the road at bridge.

We recently completed a two-night stay at the Ramada Mount Royal. Overall, this hotel is conveniently located, easily reached from the airport, and somewhat reasonably priced (We paid about £80/night B&B). The rooms were clean but average and in line with what you would expect at this tariff. The breakfast buffet had many choices and everything seemed to be freshly prepared, no need to go looking somewhere else to eat in the morning. The staff at the hotel was very helpful. I would probably stay here again. Not the best place in Edinburgh, but acceptable at this rate.

We just returned from a 4-night stay at the Ramada Mount Royal and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had a castle-view room and it was a perfect view along Princess Street and beyond to Old Town and the Castle. Part of what made our stay so enjoyable was the staff. They were so helpful and accommodating, right from the reservations department to the front desk and to the waitress we requested every day in the restaurant. It made our stay so enjoyable - the customer service can make or break your stay and they definitely made our stay. So much so, that I will be returning again to stay with them before year end!

Booked here at the last minute as it was one of the very few hotels with a room available on this 6 nations rugby weekend. This is not the standard of hotel we would usually use, but we were very pleasantly suprised. The check-in staff could not have been more friendly and efficient. The room was not particularly large, but we had a nice view of the castle, it was clean and most importantly the heating could be turned on and off (I find most hotel rooms without air-con are overheated). The bathroom was small, but clean and the shower was great. Biggest suprise was the standard of food. We arrived late in the evening and just had a room service sandwich, but service was prompt and the food was a very good standard. Given that the hotel was packed with rugby fans (all with healthy appetites!) the breakfast buffet was also a nice experience with dishes being re-filled as soon as they emptied and the staff kept the tea and coffee flowing. Overall we were really pleasantly suprised and if you are travelling on a budget you couldn't hope for a better location in Edinburgh.

After watching the Rugby at Murrayfield we headed into Edinburgh and to our hotel. We were met at reception by a very polite member of staff and given all the information we needed about our stay.
Our room was at the front facing Princes Street and the view of Edingburgh Castle was just amazing.
We headed down to the Brasserie where the waiter Brian was just superb. Very friendly a great knowledge of the food and wine.
Our meal was one of the best meals I have had a in a long time in a hotel. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection.

All in all we had a lovely experience in the Ramada Mount Royal and would recommend it to anyone
