“Classy Operation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

If you enjoy a periodic visit to Edinburgh, this is the place to stay. It's well run, central to just about everything, a block from the airport shuttle. Rose Alley (the walking street) is only about 3 blocks away and has a great range of shops and eateries. Very much looking forward to a return trip.

I stayed here on Friday the 7th December for one night. I had room 661. Check in was quick and the receptionist was very polite. The room was ok, i had a twin room, although I did ask for a double at the time of booking! The room was very clean, albeit in need of some redecoration. The view from my window was fabulous, i was looking over Princess Street and could see the castle and the winter festival. The hotel is about a five minute walk from Waverly train station it really is in a great location!

I read reviews about this hotel and was quite concerned before going there. We booked in about 3 pm and the receptionist was pleasant and very help full . We had booked a room with a view of the castle and it was a lovely room with a double bed which was very comfortable. The room had all the amenities that you need .We stayed in room 362.We also had a great view of the Christmas market, that was just over the road. The location of the hotel is great it is right in the middle of Princess Street. The breakfast was self service with lots of choices and the food was very good. The waiters were pleasant and help full. I would certainly return to this hotel we had a lovely time

Room Tip: book room 362 for the view of the castle

Trip was booked as Christmas break away. The Christmas market was on so Edinburgh was very Christmassy. The hotel was right across from the Market and being on Princes street is in a great location, but the hotel itself is dated, the food was average and expensive and the reception staff a little slow. We enjoyed the weekend but I wouldn't stay in this hotel again.
