Just home from a three night stay at this wonderful hotel. Location could not be better for seeing the sites of Edinburgh, marvellous city that she is. We had an Editor's room, brilliantly done up in tweeds with great views of Calton Hill in one direction, the Scott monument and Prince's Street in the other. The room has absolutely every ammenity you could possibly want from coffee and tea makers to flat screen TV with internet access...even a big old-fashioned bath tub installed int eh turrett in the corner fo the room! The food was first rate-- especially in the Breakfast room and Vermillion Restaurant. The staff could not do enough for you and were extremely helpful. Now, as to that swimming pool, as a hotel guest you have access to Escape, the splendid healthclub in the 68 room hotel. There you will find 60 workout stations and one incredibly stunning 60 foot swimming pool. If you are any kind of hotel fancier The Scotsman truly should not be missed .
