“Braid's Brawest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Lovely Hotel situated in Morningside Edinburgh. I stayed on business, ans have done on more than one occasion. Very helpful, well mannered and enthusiastic staff catered to my needs from arriving at reception, to serving me drinks at the bar as well as most pleasant at breakfast. The food was first class and there was plenty of it.

Recently refurbished cocktail bar had a nice, friendly atmosphere also.

I look forward to more stays here, and will recommend to my employer to keep using this wonderful hotel.

I left it late to book for a rugby weekend so prices were high and choice was limited. This was the best hotel available at the time and we were very happy with what we got. Plenty of parking on site. The receptionist was very friendly, as we're the restaurant staff at breakfast. Room was small but comfortable. One of the best showers in a hotel.

Upon arriving, the young lady behind reception provided a genuine good welcome and, also whilst checking out. The service at breakfast was not so good however, that could be a one off!!
Generally, I liked the hotel and would stay again.

Room Tip: Only stayed the one time, so can not give an opinion

I have stayed here for the past week on business, it is a great freindly hotel and the staff were fantastic. My room was comfortable and very clean. I dined in the restaurant and the service was good and the food was great too. There is a bistro onsite that has a great atmosphere and good food.

I would stay here again no problems and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely hotel on bus route for ten minute ride into the city centre., so left car there as plenty of parking space. A really good choice for two night stay, nice clean room and polite staff. Breakfast offered plenty of choice. Would stay here again if wanting a break in the city.

The hotel was a little dated but extremely comfortable. An enjoyable 40 minutes walk to the centre of Edinburgh passing several characterful pubs and independant coffee shops. If walking is not your thing there is a bus stop right outside with a a regular service to the centre. Arguably a little lacking in terms of the trappings of more modern hotels, what really made our stay here so enjoyable were the staff. Their warmth, humour and friendliness really are a credit to Braids Hill and we would definatley stay there again. The bedroom overall are perhaps looking tired, but they were roomy, comfortable and more than adequate for our short stay. There is a free car park. Although we only had breakfast in the hotel, a self service hot and cold buffet, that set us up perfectly for the long drive home. No complaints at all.

Friendly front desk staff, very spacious rooms. Big bath tubs. There is a ceramic teapot in each room for a brew. Haven't seen many of those in a hotel these days. Wifi might have been on the slow side but overall it was a good experience. Also a bit out of town but it was close to where I needed to be for an early meeting so it was good.
